Perfect rational.

He was a religious nut job. End of.
Initially it seemed very OTT, but after thinking about it I don't think that there was anything else the airline could do. If it had been a legitimate terrorist attack the plane might have gone boom.
GROMIT how on earth was he a "religious nut job" ?
TCB

It says in the report...

// Laolu Opebiyi, 40, a Christian, was using WhatsApp to arrange a conference call prayer session //

Clearly anyone who believes in such mumbo-jumbo is a potential terrorist.
The person who reported it must have very good eyesight to read a fellow passengers phone, I can hardly read my own.

I suspect that it's the 'ISI men' thing that really started ringing alarm bells for the passenger who was reading his mobile phone message.

I think we need to ask ourselves, "What would I do in the same position?"

For one, I don't read other people's mobile phone messages, but honestly? If I saw that, I think I would've alerted the cabin staff.

I want to be fair to people, but at the same time...I really don't want my name read out on News at Ten.
Complete over reaction!!
Good job it wasn't a meek little nun who had pulled out her rosary beads to recite the Angelus. She would have been well and truly ******.
yes, yes. I agree 100% with gromit religious Nut job, What The Funicular did he think would happen?
//A Londoner was removed from an easyJet flight by armed police after another passenger spotted a message on his phone referring to “prayer” and mistakenly feared he was a terrorist.
Laolu Opebiyi, 40, a Christian, was using WhatsApp to arrange a conference call prayer session with friends, as the Amsterdam-bound flight was waiting to take off at Luton airport on Thursday February 25.
But he was pulled off the flight by two firearms officers after a fellow passenger read the message over his shoulder and alerted cabin crew, who raised the alarm with police.
It is thought the man misread the name of Mr Opebiyi's prayer group “ISI men” – which stands for “iron sharpens iron” from a Bible quote – as Isis.//

Gromit's religious nut job! When asked to justify calling him a 'nut job', Gromit replies.....

Irony or what?
Some might say that Iron Sharpens Iron could be interpreted as homophobic.

In a world gone batshit anyway. :-)
Is the Archbishop of Canterbury a "religious nut job" and "a potential terrorist" I wonder?
Only on Emirates Airlines and Kuwait Airways.^^ ( So is Maria Carey)
Togo
He was probably going to Amsterdam to exorcise a child by beating it to death.
Well, nothing awful happened to the passenger, apart from a delay while things were sorted out. I'm afraid that in this day and age it has to be a 'better safe than sorry' approach. Sad, but true.
I didn't think you could use phones on a flight so how was he going to have a conference call?

Dave.
Jeez oh gromit!!!!!!!!!!!
//He was probably going to Amsterdam to exorcise a child by beating it to death.//

No, really? The authorities in Amsterdam will surely need to be informed.
Probably a Scottish Nigerian....bless you, Captain Kirk.
Victoria Climbe was murdered by nut job christians trying to exorcise her. Those African christians are highly dangerous but fortunately there was a vigilant member of the public on that plane.
