As suggested by one reader, the British Government should now seize the GPs property here and use it to compensate the evicted farmer.

///Phillip and Anita Rankin both have British ancestry but were born and brought up in Zimbabwe, employing more than 40 people at Kingston Deverill.//
I believe these two fit the definition of indigenous." Native to or born in a country"
They are not newcomers they are white Zimbabeans.
Funny how when it suits our liberal left will insist Anjem Choudary is British because he was born here.!!
Have you confirmed with AOG exactly what his definition of 'indigenous' is, retrocop?

Black Britons, according to him, are NOT indigenous, as historically (very historically) we are are White country....
I rather think the same is true of the southern African countries, in reverse, of course.

File this whilst you are at it and then you will understand that the Rankins are indigenous to Zimbabwe!!

indigenous adj 1 biol said of plants or animals: belonging naturally to or occurring naturally in a country or area; native. 2 said of a person: born in a region, area, country, etc. indigenously adverb.
ETYMOLOGY: 17c: from Latin indigenus, from indigena an original inhabitant.
hI retro !

it is called the jus soli rather than jus sanguinis
that you take the nationality from the place where you were born rather than from your parents

[ I think my post should be removed on the grounds it does not fit in with the tone of Andie hughes entertains himself and the masses ]

and is RSVP there ? Have you noticed some posters seem not to know the difference between Zim and Sarth Efrica ? You may think: christ were they like that in the old Colonial Office - answer - yes

Thank you - I do know what the word indigenous means.

But it is the application of the term that is proving to be a movable feast in debates in this section.

You said - //Funny how when it suits our liberal left will insist Anjem Choudary is British because he was born here.!!

A terrorist born in Britain should not be seen as British simply because he was born here - but the Zimbabwean farmers should be seen as Zimbabwean, because they were born there.

If one is incorrect, then both are incorrect - you cannot have it both ways.
I am not, personally ,trying to have it both ways but am pointing out that others do on AB.
They certainly do, which is what is being pointed out.......
So which one is indigenous to Zimbabwe. The white farmer born and bred there or the black doctor.? Who is the "incomer" according to the definition I gave from Chambers?
retro - Rather than getting bogged down with dictionary definitions, I suggest that we await AOGs response.
FYI - Both the Doctor (and his wife) and the Farmer (and his wife) were born in Zimbabwe.....when the Doctor (and his wife) moved to UK, it didn't affect quite how indigenous they are/were to Zimbabwe which is where this matter rests. Their status in UK is neither here nor there.

For many years regular frequenters of the News section will have been aware of AOGs pleas that the leaders of this nation put the welfare/livelihood of the 'indigenous' population ahead of that of 'incomers'......

//Could it not be said that this is exactly what Mr Mugabe is doing in Zimbabwe?//

Then the answer to the last sentence must be No. Mugabe is looking after a black skin in favour of a white skin and both are Zimbabeans.
Not if he is applying the word 'indigenous' with the same definition as AOG uses it in relation to these shores...
/Their status in UK is neither here nor there.//

I didn't mention or concern myself with UK status at any time but you introduced the word "incomer" so it seemed you were .!
I am reiterating a POV regularly made by AOG.....you will note that my original comments were addressed to him?
//you will note that my original comments were addressed to him?//
I must of misunderstood your post. I thought it was an open comment to the "frequent users of the News section" and not directed at aog specifically.

/// Why should andy_hughes condemn these two, if you cannot bring yourself to condemn white racists (Chelsea hooligans on the Paris Metro)

Level playing field and all that. ///

/// A fair point I think. ///

Neither a fair point or a legitimate comparison.

I do not agree or condone such racism, that of which was shown, in what could after all have been a selective edited video.

But the matter of not allowing a person on the train for whatever reason, can not possible be compared with a family losing their home, their farm, their livelihood, to say nothing of their employees who would also lose their jobs etc, just because that family happened to be white.

AOG - //But the matter of not allowing a person on the train for whatever reason, can not possible be compared with a family losing their home, their farm, their livelihood, to say nothing of their employees who would also lose their jobs etc, just because that family happened to be white.

Indeed it can't - which is why no-one is making that comparison.

The issue is not the actions, it's the racist motivation behind them that's being debated.

And in what way could that video have been 'edited'? The film is continuous and uninterrupted, there is clearly no editing there.

Not sure why you are clinging onto the notion that the film was used to portray the incident for something other than it was - a clear instance if racist mob yobbery - but if you wish to try and make that line stick, then feel free.

/// Apologies - I mis-read your question - ///

AOG - //And you think that any money that is ploughed into Africa doesn't also go to increase the lifestyles of a very large percentage of evil African despots? //

/// No I don't think that - which is why I did not say
it. ///

Seems perfectly clear to me, even your answer.

/// So, I am guilty of misinterpretation here, rather than naivety. ///

Why do you continue to make excuses? Like the time you ruined that other thread, by starting it off in such a way, and then when you were found out you put it down to a little jollity on your part.
AOG - to answer your last question is to start a long and tedious off-post argument, so I'll decline, thank you.

We have all had our cards marked by the Ed with regard to this - so let's not go there again.

Oh dear absolutely pathetic, the lefties are now really scraping the barrel, how can the voice of protest against incoming foreign scroungers, be compared with this situation?

AOG - Please answer the point rather than seeking to smear me and thus trivialise my point.

It'd not very gentlemanly of you to call me names, you know...
