talbot! talbot!.....there must be hundreds of thousands of fathers out in that big wild world who for reasons of their own didn't want any contact with their illegitimate children.
My father was one.
So what is you point?
Or mine with his "legitimate" ones. I'm not sure the volume of numbers makes them better people though!
I didn't have much sympathy for Ms. Keays. She knew well that he was a married man with a family and yet she was quite prepared to sleep with him in the hope that he would leave them to marry her. Obviously, he didn't come out of this smelling of roses either.

How many of us are whiter than white?
Oh dear.
I can't remember who made the joke but, when his long-term mistress first revealed her pregnancy, Parkinson had been pontificating on "harmful emisssions". Someone quipped, "If anyone knows all about harmful emissions, it's Cecil Parkinson!"
jomlett thanks for that link, there is another longer story about them both too, outlining all the health issues Flora had and the fact that she was also raped by a teacher. She was the innocent one in all of this but suffered the most, and still is.
Amid all the florid tributes for Lord Parkinson, his 'talent', his 'charisma' and all that - let's not forget that he was busy being a hypocrite and he failed to grasp the basic concept of contraception - both of which put serious dents in his suitability as a person of influence as far as I am concerned.

He passed muster as an 'attractive man' for Lady T. and her ilk who must have twittered and cooed at his charming manners, imagining him to be the wonderful paramour they always wanted.

Add to that the singular attraction among bluestockings - the urge to mother him, since he always looked as though he was about to burst into tears.

He may have been a talented politician, but he was a flawed individual who refused to accept responsibility for his actions.

Hear hear Andy, couldn't have put it better myself.
Don't really know him, but he sounds like your typical arrogant tory MP (ducks) ......
