Nobel prize-winner, Sir Tim is leaving Britain for Japan, their gain and Britain's loss I think.

Indeed it is Britain's loss - but empty cans, sadly, make the most noise.
Confirming the move, Professor Collins told the Daily Mail: "This is a job I applied for before the Tim Hunt incident and is a very positive career move for me."

It seems it is nowt to do with the PC row
...//However, a friend of the couple said they would not be moving if it had not been for the furore surrounding Sir Tim's comments. //

Seems it is.
But that is gossip and speculation, naomi.
Mmmm.... it would be.
He applied for the job before the skirmish. He must have been interested in moving to Japan to apply, don't you think?
I'd take Collins's word ahead of that of an unnamed "friend" who's contradicting her.
I think he's diplomatic.
As I under the impression that he was going to Japan anyway, to accompany his wife, who has a new job there. She had applied for the new job before her husbands difficulties arose, so I'm not sure he really is going because of his gaff.

He may have said, "This is a job I applied for before the Tim Hunt incident..."
but I really doubt that, without this stupid incident I think it safe to say he would still be at UCL. Moving to Japan at 72 is quite a step and I think his friends know just how hurt and angered about it all he is.
K....I thought he was going to Japan to accompany his wif ?
Real friends wouldn't gossip to the media. His wife has a five year contract at a Japanese university, of course he is going with her.
I expect he'll fit right in in Japan, a very unreconstructed place as far as women are concerned.
Sadly there seem to be numerous poo storms stoked and made into outsize bandwagons by the media, in which various perceived victims use extreme methods to target offenders.
I think the guy was a silly old duffer. Getting at him hasn;t rid the world of science of silly old duffers though.

It sounds to me that not only have they won, they are still hard at it.
We went to hell in a handcart years ago Khandro.

Still, look on the bright side, soon we will all be goose stepping or sticking our bums to the West.
Feminazis, disgusting hypocrites and like all their 'ilk' as thick as two short planks.
I think you should ask Jim, Khandro.
Condemned, sneered at and humiliated by Stalinist/Maoist snitches. Denied any presumption of innocence or access to due process. Wouldn't happen to (and hasn't happened to) a GITMO detainee, would it?
" “I was head-hunted before June by the institute and made a strong application in return because I thought this looks a great job. We are glad we are going but we are not doing so because we have been chased out of the country. This sort of job was always part of my life plan,” she says."
