It is morally right to do more, but i disagree with "nice man Dave" and feel that morals should not play a major part.

Labour wants MORE then 20,000.
I suspect that the people who are already waiting on the housing list, and who regard themselves as UK citizens, born and bred, might be feeling rather disgruntled at the news that Good-hearted Dave is proposing to look after foreigners.
By 2020. Hopefully the situation will be resolved before that and they won't come - but I'm not holding my breath.
Your going to have to get a lean to awning for the van Mikey.
I'll start a whip round.
Of course Labour want more. They have to shore up their voting base.
Where are they putting them all, thought there was a housing shortage.
I am going to stop watching the news as its putting my blood pressure up.

Sick of seeing all the do goodies collecting items to give to the Calais migrants before they break into Britain.

LOL Retro !
Dave and his fellow wasters are certifiable cretins. The other lot are just as bad but have no power to do anything but mouth what they think the Twitterati want to hear.
Well pin your lugs back and pay attention to what's being said in the real world or you'll all be out of a job next time.
You can't run a country on guilt and social media.
I went up to the centre of Birmingham early last Sunday morning to take some photographs.

While walking round the city on Sunday morning I saw at least six people sleeping in doorways. I am sure most cities in the UK have the same.

How about we look after some of the people already here.

Disgraceful to take even more people.

p.s. I also notice on the BBC news web page today another six Asian men have been put in prison for abusing young girls.

Why are we being so stupid.
One can argue there is a moral responsibility to do more. But even if that is agreed it doesn't imply being foolish enough to invite them into one's country. That would be irresponsible.
Where are we going to put them?
Not against them, just worried that we do not have the accommodation.
Not only do we not have the accomadation, out infrastructure is at breaking point. The NHS, hospitals, doctors, dentists, out schools, social sevices, Police Roads, water, gas and lets not forget the electric is lilkely to start going out with who we have.

Of course, if labour had not let so many immigrants in, many of whom hate us, then maybw we would have been in a position to help real refugees.

There is still hope; swap those that hate us and want to go to Syria with someone who is valuable and wants to be one of us.
Get this into perspective. France is going to take 24,000. France is 2 and a half times as large as the UK. I speak from experience when I say that many large areas of fertile France have been deserted by the youngsters. There are thousands and thousands of crumbling houses with land around the dying villages. These could house and feed diligent immigrants and revitalise the villages, keep schools going etc..

The UK does not have this sort of land and rescuable housing and land available! We need to look after our own first.

'Call me Dave' is certifiable - or getting out of a hole whilst callously reckoning that he doesn't have an election to lose because he is getting out.

yep, Dave has lost the plot but labour have collapsed and anyway are ecen moe out of touch with the majority.

When will politicians listen to the silent majority not the noisy minority?
This is a huge security and health risk to people of the UK. I hope they know what they are doing.
No they dont, and it will end in tears.

It seems Dave is more afraid of offending Mr Geldoff than the Majority of the British Public.
Dave is more and more starting to sound like Ted Heath. Now that IS worrying.
How about writing to Nicola S, are they taking any refugees? The Highlands are pretty empty.
Last night's London Evening Standard reported that the majority of the people we take in will be women and children from refugee camps. Hopefully these women will be working mothers.
