Started our journey home this morning, on our way to the hotel at Alencon we got stopped by the police. Two of them on motorbikes, made us turn into a parking area.
Told OH he had been stopped for speeding doing 128k in a 90k zone. Twenty minutes later and lots of paperwork and a €90 fine we were on our way.
After he had the lecture from me. I'm always on at him about speeding. So now I have my eyes on the speedo and the satnav that tells me the speed limit and he gets told to slow down.
He doesn't like it one bit, but now I have the ammo to make him take notice.
I must admit though the french roads are superb. Very long and straight for miles and no potholes or ruts anywhere.
So I hope lessons will be learnt.
No idea about the points, police spoke hardly any english, a lot of paperwork, must look at it tomorrow, it's in the car. Could he get points on his licence from another country?
I hope he will take heed of this, I mean he is 77 this year but still thinks he is a boy racer, especially when he is in his MG!
I loved the roads in America, Caran......MrG often braked for me or chuntered....but I'd worked out that a fine was cheaper than the cost of a motel that we avoided by my getting there quicker.....x
A couple of hours later we had a break for half an hour. When we started out again the sat nav stopped displaying the local speed limit. I did ask him if he had altered it when I went to the loo!
He said he hadn't, so now I have to try to see the speedo and try to sort out what we should be doing. He's not a happy bunny!
Hi gness, hope you enjoyed your holiday. Never been to the states and don't have the confidence to drive abroad. In fact I'm only confident driving locally now. It's an age thing I think. Sad really, I even think twice about going into Gloucester and that's only 14 miles away.
Looks like points as well
