It seems to me that Indonesia has done them a favour.

It will, likely, have a negative effect on their tourist industry.(I reckon)

the septics take at least double that prudie. It takes time to exhaust all the appeal processes.
TTT - //Don't be rediculous Andy, we are talking about tried and convicted guilty men not some sort of random statistical pre guilt determination. Due process has been carried out. //

I am not disputing that due process has been completed - it's the due process that I take issue with.
Question Author
so what's that go to do with randomly shooting 10% of tourists then?
... or with mindsets like mine starting all sorts of horrible worldwide catastrophies?
Why can't they (and us in some cases) just send them back to their own countries to serve their sentences.

The death penalty in a foreign country is punishing an entire family.
I agree about the time delay. In the UK, when capital punishment was in force, it was an unwritten rule that if, for whatever reason, the sentence could not be carried out in 90 days, a reprieve was granted. It was three weeks, encompassing three clear Sundays. This was extended if there was an appeal, so the average time between sentence and execution was six weeks.
Re capitol punishment..."Its the only sure way"....if that's the case then why are the jails in the US,and other countries that support capitol punishment, full? Something's not working.

Because the Inmates haven't committed crimes attracting Capital Punishment
pasta, that was in response to andy-hughes at 14:55.
State murder will not stop drug smuggling. That's a fact.
ummmm, the point I was making was that it's stopped these drug smugglers. They won't re-offend.

Then perhaps the answer to the crowded prisons is to introduce the death penalty for some other crimes.

Of course, why didn't any government with an ounce of humanity, compassion, logic, and simple ability to observe the futility of this barbaric practice, think of that?
True, Naomi, they won't. But I / we do not know the background stories. I'd like to hear them before I put a bullet in their head.
I wonder if the UK woman will be executed now?
Let's kill more....like what's done in certain other countries, the ones we criticise for their barbarism?
Behead them!!!
My My ladies. Don't lets get emotional.these criminals contravened the law of Indonesia which carries the death penalty and they knew it.lot different to being beheaded because of your religion.the Indonesians don't do that. Why all the compassion for the criminals. Have you thought about their victims I wonder?
If you get caught smuggling drugs in Indonesia you get executed.

They got caught smuggling drugs in Indonesia. They got executed.
I'm not sure what the confusion is here.
