I wonder if they'll find a donor to provide the other 80%?

So do I, jno.
It's more of a body transplant than a head one really.
Is this a bit too weird?

I did check that it wasn't April 1st.
So, Science Fiction has become reality. Aaaarrrgh. Shades of Frankensteins monster!
on a serious note: if they can transplant a head then why can't they transplant a spinal column and give paralyzed people the chance to walk again?

It's a good question. The whole point about a spinal cord is that you can't just join it back up - if it's severed, you're paralyzed from the injury downwards, so how do they propose to address that with a body transplant. This has to be a belated April fools thing surely.

This screams of April's Fools...but I honestly don't want it to be a joke. I want it to be real.

I seriously want this to be real.
So do I - sort of. SP, I think you and I are weird! (Haaaa! I'm making myself laugh now!).

So they can transplant a face and they're suggesting they might be able to transplant a head...but...they can't treat nerve damage in conditions such as Bell's Palsy.
I can list a few politicians who could do with a head transplant!
I think I'd like to be an old head on young shoulders. Imagine having all the vigour of a 20 year old and the maturity that comes with age.
And the senility.
I'd eat all the pies to protect myself from that ^
It's been happening in television Soap Operas for years......

I agree, it's a fascinating concept but can't see how the problems in connecting separate nervous systems together can be overcome.
