Naomi - //Perhaps the people you accuse of indulging in what you assume to be casual racial stereotyping know rather more Muslims than you do. Knowing only one, you can hardly claim that your penchant for racial stereotyping – albeit the other way around - emanates from substantial experience. //
Perhaps so - perhaps not, we have no way of knowing.
But I would need to know a lot more Muslims than the average UK citizen knows in order to start making sweeping statements about what 'punishments' should be meted out to them.
And if I knew every Muslim on the planet, I still could not condone FGM as one other poster on here so casually advocates as a deserving response to your Muslim women who are misguided enough to travel abroad, even though we have no firm evidence of where they have actually gone, or what they are actually doing there.
It's this casual barbarity, every bit as cold and heartless as any terrorist, that crops up on here when Isis is mentioned, that I find very hard to come to terms with.
