Well, its difficult to think of anywhere farther away from Britain than New Zealand, so perhaps its 3rd time lucky !

Hope so whiskeryron - but today I heard on R4 the father of a girl involved in the original crimes. He said that he was walking across the road from a taxi rank (in Rotherham) and the drivers were out of their cars laughing and joking with young girls and offering them ciggies (he was positive that none of them was over 14). There were 2 'special' police nearby and he asked them what they were going to do about it. They turned their backs and walked away. Well that's what he said.

jourdain2......I think you may be conflating two entirely different news items here. This has nothing to do with the Rotherham case, as this Enquiry will be investigating historic child abuse.
But I can fully understand your confusion, as the Media and the Courts are stuffed full of the activities of paedophiles at present. Easy to get them mixed up.

I think May ( our next prime minister apparently ) was slow to realise the demands of the victims needed to be taken into account - and that therefore Theresa May didn't Know Best
The mandarin compiling the list of the Great and Good that the govt can call onto to Whitewash whatever should have realised the first two were soiled goods ( in the sense of not up to the job )
Bulter SLoss for example pioneered secret fambly courts which excluded one side ( the side that didn't know the action was being held ) and so by definition 50% didn't like what she had done. The other 50% liked it An Awful Lot as the defence was disabled
