The French have a bit of a problem at the moment.

Too early to say why this happened though.
// 12.04 The Charlie Hebdo attack suspects are believed to have stolen food and petrol at gunpoint from this service station in Villers-Cotteret, Picardy - around 50 miles northeast of Paris - before driving off in the direction of the capital. //
The way this gang operate suggests some sort of military training. The fact the Charlie Hebdo raid was not also a suicide miission suggests that they are not amateurs and the usual deranged nutters like the Lee Rigby attackers. And they concealed their identities.
All of which suggests that further attacks are probable.
I read that the were trained assassins.
the muslim scourge strikes again....
Yes Baz, but as Gromit points out, these are using a very different method of attack.

Sources reckon they were trained in Yemen - and known to the authorities.
The Charlie Hebdo offices had a police guard 24/7.Iit was specifically targetted because it contained enemies of Islam. It would have been regarded as a difficult operation to undertake and to successfully escape from.
The fear is that now they are on the run, they will go for a soft target not one of targetted enemies, but aimed at the french public.
An attack on Lyon now, a pizza joint explosion......

// Michael Scheuer, who led the hunt for bin Laden from 1996-1999 //
Bin Laden was not really hidden during that period, he was holed up in Afghanistan at the invitation of the Taleban.

// Mr Scheuer said Europe’s porous borders would mean French police and secret service faced a very difficult task as they hunted the three suspects identified as the two brothers Saïd and Cherif Kouachi, aged 34 and 32 who recently returned from jihad in Syria and Hamyd Mourad, 18, from Reims, in northeastern France. //

Hamyd Mourad has apparently voluntarily surrendered himself to the police after seeing his own name on twitter connecting him to the shooting. He seems to have a cast iron alibi that he was not part of the attack. The two brothers are believed to havee held up a garage in France and were report to be heading for the capital.

Any ABers recall posts before Christmas where the return of our own home grown jihadists were discussed?
The usual bleeding heart apologistas on this site declaring that these poor misled and misguided boys and girls were really good people and should be allowed to return to the UK and have a stern talking to and told not to do it again.
Algerians who have families in France go off to train in Yemen to fight the jihad in Syria and this is what happens when they return to Paris.
You still want our home grown scum back here to return and try to better their muslim bros deeds in Paris ?
Yes indeed. Further attacks are probable and not just in France!
Trouble is we are told that it is only a minority of Muslims that commit these acts against the majority. It is about time this minority was converted to a nonentity by the majority.

Again, I agree with retrocop.

No, I do not recall anyone saying that. Are you sure you haven't made it up?
If you are going to accuse fellow ABers, you should provide proof, a link to the thread or post would help.
Retrocop

I found this, but no one has said the things you attribute to them

I don't remember anyone posting anything like that either. I do remember people asking how we can stop them coming back if they are British born.
Gromit
No I did'nt make it up though I suspect you rather hope I had done don't you?.
Unlike you yesterday I WILL come back to you on that one after I have trawled through the answers in my profile.
Gromit

Question Author
retrocop, could it be this one?

Well it's certainly refreshing to see peoples attitudes towards teenagers making a horrible mistake.

Haven't any of you made mistakes during your teenage years? Drugs? Booze? pregnancy? Hanging with a bad crowd and being arrested? Have you since changed your life? Should you have been punished for the rest of your life for that one mistake?

Personally I would hope that these girls ARE let back into Austria and then can go to schools maybe giving talks about their mistakes and why others should NEVER join gangs/terrorist groups.

Wouldn't that be a better "Sentence" that they might stop others going down the wrong path? ///
