Most of the immigrants I know and their offspring consider themselves the nationality of their forebears until it comes to freebies (benefits, housing, PC, etc) then they are British imo. They will not vote Conservative and certainly not UKIP for fear of any detrimental change in their lifestyle. OK waiting for the ceiling to fall on me but please no racist, bigot or any of those words so easily bandied about. The EU is a corrupt money making cesspit that would love to see (and control) our Financial affairs and I hope Farage is in there to fight our corner.imo

Now that's odd...because most of the immigrant I know are conservative (with a small 'c') and Conservative (with a big 'C') voters.

This is especially true of the Asians I know, because the Conservatives have always been the party of traditional family values, which is a very strong aspect of Asian life.

Also, and I'm sure you must be aware of this - many Asians are self-starters (small business owners) and therefore I assume, lean towards parties who support small businesses and this too is something of a Conservative strength (at least, that's their public perception).

I'm not saying that you're wrong about immigrants you know - perhaps I've hung around with more 'upscale' people, but your characterisation is very much at odds with mine.

90% SE farmers of livestock have set up in Europe. The value of homeland for development to house an increasing population, is the springboard for Brits to farm in cheaper land in Europe. While we may have some migrants from the eastern blok, they in turn, smoothe our agriculture path into their cheaper expansive lands. Its a win win UKIP cant see.
