A greater number of liberal 'chatterati'

A recognition that UKIP don't represent the voice of London?

Fear that some of us will lose our EU home help?

Or a conspiracy amongst the Guardianistas?

Or a disgusting streak of common sense?

sp, As you know I worked for a Labour controlled council in London (having myself been born and bred in Hackney - and lived there for 45years) when we had the first Asian influx the council decided to offer them loans Interest Free (PC) to buy their corner shops etc not forgetting the indigenous population did not have this offer, according to their beliefs when they sold the business on they did not make any profit - did they heck - now you know how the corner shops became Asian owned almost overnight. I have now tucked in and put this story to bed.
Probably is Gromit, but then they do speak the same language as he does, though they do mis-spell the odd word. Funnily enough, 'color' is one of them!

That would be Muslim surely? Would Hindu shop/restaurant owners also get the same loans?

And even if those loans didn't exist, I think it's safe to characterise Asians are pretty dedicated small businesspeople.

The third generation of Asians in the UK seem to be focussing on property management and renovation. I genuinely think that we can learn from this entrepreneurial drive. We hear so many negative stories about Asians, we forget that some traits (strong family links, respect for their elders, self-determination) are actually traditional British values!

Weird huh?

Not that I'm saying that Asians have the monopoly in all that is good - it's just that I think that some people tend to focus on the negative stories.

Light and shade, light and shade.
Sometimes the negative is so apalling that the positive is lost.t
sp, //Suzanne Evans says, unlike Ukip, capital's young educated population can't understand heartache felt by rest of country//

So not that Ukip voters are, according to Mikey, uncultured, uneducated and old, nor as according to you //If you're old, thick and think that culture is something to do with yoghurt - we're the party for you// - but rather that the people she’s talking about are out of touch with the real world - and knowing several of them, I would second that.

So we’ve had Nigel Farage saying that homophobia is ok, and now one of his party saying that the only people who vote for Ukip are uncultured, uneducated and old – and both assessments totally inaccurate. Why do you people find it so difficult to be honest?
its like I said, Naomi. If Lefty cant find a suitable fact, they'll just make them up. Don't bother waiting for an apology or retraction either, ain't going to happen.
Svejk, I simply don’t understand why people continuously twist what’s there in an attempt to turn it into something that clearly isn’t there but better suits their agenda. Who do they think they’re fooling? We can all read.
To be fair, Naomi, they only repeat, parrot-fashion, what they're told by their left-wing 'news' sites in the morning. I feel rather sorry for them. Can you imagine going through life with such a blinkered, one dimensional outlook.
Svejk

That left wing news site, the Daily Mail seems to have interpreted it in similar fashion to mikey...

// Ukip today claimed it had failed to breakthrough in London despite its success in the rest of the country - because voters in the capital are more 'media savvy and educated' than elsewhere.

Mr Farage's campaign flopped in the capital, where Labour picked up key swing councils from the Tories.

Ukip spokeswoman Suzanne Evans was asked to explain the party's poor performance in London. Speaking on Radio 4 Ms Evans admitted the party had difficulty appealing to the 'educated, cultured and young'. //

It's good to start off the day with a good laugh.
Ms Evans admitted the party had difficulty appealing to the 'educated, cultured and young'……because ….. the capital's young educated population can't understand heartache felt by rest of country.
there's an unholy alliance. the daily mail and our resident trot.
you have to foreign or a king moron to live in London, anyway.

// you have to be a king moron to live in London, anyway. //

Ever thought of being a UKiP spokesman svejk?
None of UKiPs European gains will be in the capital.

Which is odd when you think about it. The part of the country most affected by immigration reject UKiP and areas with few immigrants vote for them.
Not odd at all Gromit. If the majority of the electorate in a particular area are immigrants, it's no surprise Ukip isn't the most popular party.
harriet harperson just said we have to stop immigrants 'flooding in' and undercutting wages here. Will our liberatti savage her, like they've savaged anyone who dared suggest such a thing on here.
Ha ha! She's doing an 'Ed'. :o)
