It has been really quite pleasant today and I was enjoying the warmth and sunshine in the conservatory with my book.

The weather has now changed and a storm is coming through and I'm back in the house which is cold :-(. I'm baffled as it isn't particularly cold outside but the house is colder than normal and I can't workout how to switch the flipping heating on.

I'm not feeling 100% and am off to fill a hot water bottle, grab a blanket and hoping to find something unchallenging on the TV this afternoon as that is all I'm good for :-(

Tomorrow I'm going to learn how the heating system works!

I'm liking the idea of a toddy!

Yes it is a new heating system and I have no idea how to fast forward it or even turn it on!

I am really baffled as to why it is 2 degrees colder than usual though when it isn't overly cold outside?!?!?
Fed Up!,what does that remind me of? Central Heating is a pain at times, have you got a number you can call and ask them to talk you through it, or call them out, after all thats what you pay for.
instruction booklet ?

OK, so it is a relatively new heating system, i.e. 7 months and I don't think I've needed to turn it on ahead of the timer as the house has always been nice and warm. Today it is really cold and I just cannot think why!

I will ask Mr Cake to give me a lesson on how it works this evening...........I think he was the one that installed the new system!
My heating controls are in the airing cupboard. Probably no help but I am trying!
The Professionals are on ITV4 at 11.40 tomorrow :)
You could always watch that if you figure out the heating system by then :)
Cor blimey! Bleedin' posh people: conservatory? airing cupboard?

Grasscarp, our heating is in 'zones'......that much I know!

How the friggin' hell I do battle with the thermostat in the friggin' freezing living room 'zone' is beyond me. I can press it and it lights up, a pretty shade of blue if you are interested, my presses seem to be pointless though as chuff all happens.

But what I really don't understand is why the house is cold today when it isn't particularly cold outside....odd, very odd.
Can't you give Mr Ecclescake a ring and ask him how to do it?
Where is the thermostat situated. Mine is up the wall in the hallway and to turn it to the right a bit makes the heating come on.

Mazie, he is at work and as strange as it may sound I don't know his work number and he cannot have is mobile on at work.

Roll on 16.30 when I think the heating comes on......
I've got a button that over-rides the timer,it just says ON. Do you have one? If so press it and see if it comes on.
Failing all else,go to bed with a couple of HWB's until he gets in.
Well a hot toddy and blanket it is then Eccles :o)

Grasscarp, I think I need to find out where the central control unit is. Tinkering with the individual thermostats isn't enough.....I think.....

It used to be so simple, I could press a button for an hours worth of heat, fast forward to the next scheduled on period or choose constant.

I am still wondering why the house is cold though, I've wandered around looking for doors or windows open and there are none :-/
If you don't feel 100% you will feel cold anyway. Go to bed and get warm.
grab a cosy jumper and put that on and snuggle up in front of tv with some soup..that'll warm ya up.
