I thought John H was beyond patient in the interview and AC came across as arrogant, unstable and very manipulative.
As the next person interviewed said, this is the only country in the world where he would be allowed to say these things on publicly owned media.
As an intellectual fond of cerebral debate, I suggest he goes away in rapid jerky movements to Iraq and do some work with the people there as he so passionately believes in whatever.
Reminded me somewhat of the well-heeled lefties of the 1960s, preaching Trotskyite revolution from comfortable homes.

Declaring "war on Islam" would probably be about as effective as declaring war on thunderstorms.
We object to Islam (quite reasonably) because as a set of ideals it is oppressive, inimical to personal freedom, and viciously intolerant. I don't see how combating it with oppression, attacks on personal freedom, and vicious intolerance would be particularly effective.

He has been instrumental in setting up any number of Islamic organisations, groups, and has ties in with many terror leaders, not least one who now resides in US jail. If he doesn't like democracy, which i find incredibly irritating seeing as how he uses it constantly, free speech and all that, he is a traitor in my eyes. we should not be waging war on Islam, that is what this man wants, we hand him a perfectly wrapped tool to beat us with. Which is why he cites our involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan as the reasons for his views. We are infidels and should be conquered or brought around to their way, its not going to happen. But we cannot afford to ignore people like this.
why keep it under control, he does not, if you actually listen to what he says, he means every word, i don't understand why you think that people are furious, angry without just cause, this country has made massive inroads into freedom of speech, equality of the sexes, laws on gay marriage, and so forth, he wants to change all that, don't you get it.
I'm not suggesting he be ignored. He should be monitored by the authorities (as we know he is being) and otherwise allowed to think/say whatever he wants.

Last night, one of his supporters was interviewed on TV news. The man complained that 14 mosques had been attacked consequent upon Lee Rigby's death. This is the kind of argument that tells us all we need to know about the mindset of these people. It apparently never occurred to him that killing a British soldier in cold blood might just be the cause of that behaviour, and that, if some Muslims had not murdered "as soldiers of Allah", the mosques would have been left intact.
