I have just done another search and found it. Still, nearly after after the Huff Post 'Scoop'.

I suspect the sermon is not aimed at the evil men who do this, but others in the community who know what they are up to, and ignore it. Intennded to prick the concious and do he right thing.

I want to make it absolutely clear that I will always make a point of castigating racism, here on AB or anywhere else. I am not one that turns the other cheek. For evil to exist, all it takes is for good men to do nothing.

The majority of regular posters on AB make sensible and thought-provoking comments, which are always interesting to read. There are people, for instance, that have specialised technical, medical or legal backgrounds that can, and often do present new angles on issues.

But there are some on AB who twist every story associated with our non-white communities, with their naked racism. Those people know who they are. As long as they continue to do that, I will continue to comment. And I don't need anybodies permission to do so !

The sermon has been written by a 'Respect' Party councillor.

If it is indeed read at 500+ mosques, then the potential audience is a quarter to half a million listeners. I wonder how many from the mainstream parties can boast they have directly spoken to anything like that number.

And why has the iniative come from Respect and not one of the main parties?

My initial search was too specific and only turned up the Bradford local paper and the Huff Pist from a fortnight ago. When I did another search, this time more general, I started to see it being reported last night.

Em...you are right, of course, about the Internet. Its really only been with us for less that 20 years but it has changed the world utterly, most for the good. But the sexual and perverted side of it has kind-of taken over. I'm not sure what can be done to combat it. I think I heard that a Commons Select Committee are going to be investigating it. This is a debate that the whole country can join in.

If you are referring to the muslims, do you have any evidence that it is astonishingly higher than the rest. Without wasting time looking it up, I suspect it will be no higher than any other culture.

I think this thread can be a useful vehicle for the straightforward question; what is the role of the mosque in (Islamic) society ?

Sunnis dont have a hierarchy (Shia do) so there isnt a mechanism whereby one can go to the fella in charge and say - fax them all this and get them to read it on Friday.

if so then stop being so blinkered. suggest if you really want to an eye opener watch the programme on BBC 3 last evening, on sexual abuse in India, shocking, traumatic and truly despicable. The young girl who had acid poured over her was probably the worse thing i have seen. I hope that these sexist attitudes change but they are the same here are fighting against centuries and centuries old traditions. Its taken long enough for British women to get some degree of equality, now we see that other cultures are not following suit.

As I dont agree with your opinions then yes, in your view, but then to me youre nothing but a naive mug to believe the garbage you spout and try and force on others ( bit like the missionarys and their religious garbage)

Please explain for the benefit of the uninformed on here what is so good about being flooded by all these people, and tell us when you think enough is enough where your open doors policy is concerned.
