Perhaps the same kind of measures should be enforced to prevent all 'undesirables' from entering the UK?

sounds like they're acting under US orders
"sounds like they're acting under US orders"

what a surprise
Are we now controlled by the U.S. ? I was under the impression all our orders came from Brussells.

WR.
when Brussels tells us to do something, we've actually had a say in the decision. When Washington says jump, we jump. (In another 50 years, it will be Beijing rather than Washington.)
A cynical comment from bazwillrun? That's a rare collectors' item!!!
That Donald Trump bugs me too, AOG.
ROTFL!!!

I think Ed Snowdon would no more board a plane to the UK than board one to Washington DC!

He specifically went to Hong Kong because he thought it was the most difficult place for the US to get him in comparison to that the UK would be trivial.
I was wondering whether Mr Snowden had been "got at" - for a tidy sum of money.
Can't they give this Snowden fellow a job in Kim Yong-Un's Government which would sort out the North Korea nuclear policy for us in the west?

As Jake said, what on earth makes anyone think he'd some here unless at gun point? We're far too fond of giving our American masters what they want to be safe, unless you want to live in the Ecuadorian Embassy for the rest of your life.
On the other hand if we were going to hand him to the US suely we'd want him on a plane to the UK?

Is there any topic into which you will not drag immigration aog ?

One, among many, undesirables , presently barred from entering the UK is an American TV star and home style 'guru' who was jailed there for insider trading. Now that is the kind of person we must keep out; obviously an immediate threat to our security and our way of life !
What Daily Wail garbage - why would he want to come here or anywhere in the EU? That's straight to a USA cell, don't pass go and don't collect his Daily Mail pay-off.
We dont want him here, holed up in yet another embassy costing us a fortune.

This man is an undesirable and should not be allowed in.

Agree AOG, pity they dont ban a few more.

Touches a few raw nerves does it Fred?

/// One, among many, undesirables , presently barred from entering the UK is an American TV star and home style 'guru' ///

Have you got a name for him?

Here are a couple of Muslims that have been barred, also a Jamaican reggae singer Bounty Killer, who strangly enough was not banned when he should have been.

/// Muslim cleric Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, who had defended suicide attacks, was refused a visa but only after being a guest at City Hall of former London mayor Ken Livingstone. ///

/// Islamic preacher Zakir Naik who claimed ‘every Muslim should be a terrorist’ was banned from Britain but still addressed the Oxford Union via a video link. ///

/// And Jamaican reggae singer Bounty Killer (real name Rodney Pryce) was allowed to perform in the UK despite using lyrics which encourage the murder of homosexuals and promote gang culture. ///

This has nothing to do with immigration. The man has been deemed a criminal and engaged in treasonous actions. No way should he be permitted, not that he would come anyway, unless he has a 100A fuse loose.
/Have you got a name for him?/

aog

why do you assume it's a he?

This is 2013

There are female TV celebrities and 'homestyle gurus' now
And there was that loon Dutch right-winger, Geert Wilders, who was initially refused entry - who was he seeing but that loony right wing fringe, UKIP, Lord Pearson no less bringing him into the sanctum of democratic free speech. Not that he or UKIP are into anti-immigration.....no way, erhmmmmm. AOG would be left high, dry and beached if they turn to a more pluralistic open door policy, one that embraces humanity.
It isn't a him, aog. It is Martha Stewart.

Not clear why you think immigration would touch a raw nerve of mine, aog. My ancestors got off the boat a very long time ago indeed. But why did you bother to ask a wider question on immigration policy in a simple question about one man's entry or denial of entry? You could ask the question without any reference to any news item.
