All I did was buy green beans. I was berated in the checkout queue as they came from Kenya.
When I pointed out to the said woman that Cameron had travelled a 4,000 mile trip to Russia for a 30 minute meeting, she started shouting and was then removed by security. I think I'll start shopping on-line.

Worry ye not. Yesterday I had strawberries from Morocco! Join the club.
Good grief jeza, how could someone berate your shopping? Our beans came from Kenya too, much to my dismay, but there weren't any more local ones.
Wow....weirdies where you shop!
Silly cow. If she felt that strongly she shouldn't be shopping there.
I would have told her to get bent
I must admit I do get frustrated when I see people buying eggs which are not free range but I certainly would not open my mouth and start berating them.

There are some odd people out there.I love fine green beans and if they come from Kenya, so be it.
I'm pleased she was removed by security, sounds like you were in the wrong place at the wrong time Jeza. I love those squeaky green beans!

I wonder where her clothes came from
I've never knowingly eaten green beans in my life, as a kid i went broard bean picking in the school holidays but that put me off them for life.
Good job it was you and not me..................
Eating seasonal veg is important to me for a number of reasons. I do look at the shopping baskets of the shopper in front of me and feel frustration when I see their long haul air-freighted, tired, overpriced veg. However just because it annoys me I wouldn't dream of publicly berating a fellow shopper because they don't share the same view as me.
Wow, when i go shopping i go to purchase consumables and not for a lesson on politics and morals by a cretin on her high horse.

You should've told her that you like to help the kenyan economy as a thank you after they gave us some great runners to watch at the olympics

What would you have said Craft?
Can't do right for doing wrong. Protect the NHS by eating fruit and veg. Do not eat too much fruit as it is full of sugar. Vegetables from abroad? Oh no!
Support British farmers, but avoid red meat, full fat milk and cheese.
Don't even think about ingesting anything containing barley, hops or home grown grapes.
I would have happily lied through my teeth. "How dare you; my family are Kenyan fishermen and farmers and three of them have suffered in protecting shytes like you from being taken over by Somali pirates. And yes, they grow beans, a small price to pay."
