We get local TV news via "Look North". Regardless of other news, murder and violence always get first go. No wonder people think we live in a violent society. I have always suspected that this stuff is fed to the punters to cover what is really going on, maybe because the programmers think that most viewers are to thick to understand much else.

You can say what you want, and people who disagree with you can say what they want. That's true freedom of speech.

You appear to believe that the UK doesn't have freedom of speech purely because people are able to criticise your views. I suspect that this is probably a smokescreen for the fact that your views don't stand up to rational scrutiny.

Well that depends on which way your brain has been taught to conceive as racist, ageist, sexist and (I will add another) homophobic.

It is only recently that one could not debate Immigration, because Labour thought it racist to do so, but now Ed Millband admits they got it wrong.

You see to some, such things are deemed racist, ageism, sexist, and homophobic, when others see no reason why such groups cannot be freely to debated and at times criticised

I will answer Bazwillrun's question. Having lived and worked in Hackney (albeit a few years back) I can honestly say that they are all highly populated by immigrants (some boroughs the majority) and yes they are all poor boroughs -for some. If you have never lived in the inner boroughs of London I don't think you have any idea what goes on.
