It really makes me sick that we have people like this in our country.

Why did we think so little of ourselves that we allowed people like this to come here.

This was such a great country, and so many people would want to come here, that we could afford to be choosy. But we weren't and we let any old scum in.

We really are slowly (quickly) being dragged down to a third world country.

and youd be quite happy to see this country without a white face wouldnt you, come on admit it.

anybody dare speak up and theyre a racist, a bigot etc etc

nobody is allowed to have an opinion on what they want for this country without people of your ilk chirping up and labelling them racist and bigots etc

yet most of those same immigrants of one sort or another you so love and think the country couldnt survive without and enrich our culture (yeah right , of course they do)would love to have this country under their control and not a white person in site.

and the tragedy is that one day they will because of people like you

people like you are disgrace and in reality are no more than traitors, who are happy to see this country and its heritage destroyed.
One of these days I'll get an opportunity to have a full wide-ranging discussion with you about life the universe and everything sharingan. I have a few friends in the US but never been there so curious what led you to that impression.

If we are feeding health to the world, we should be proud of that. Money, perhaps, is a more complicated issue as some of it inevitably ends up in the hands of the "wrong people". Your Philpotts, or warlords, or assorted criminals. It's often difficult to avoid this but the consequences of trying are usually to affect the "right people" more than the "wrong people". Reason for that is that the "wrong people" will look to find holes in the law to exploit, or anyway will chase the money somehow, and therefore end up with it anyway. Or just come into the country illegally, or find some other way round things.

Measures to cut immigration invariably hit far more of the "right people" because it means more effort to get into the country and that can be very off-putting for the honest majority. I'm not saying we shouldn't try to avoid letting criminals into our country - of course we should - but how do you go about doing that when sometimes it's impossible to know? You can't always conduct background checks, as records of other countries may be inadequate, and people may not have started out as criminals so there wouldn't be anything to find in their past.

Any measure to cut immigration will invariably struggle to be selective in the way that people want. The same applies, incidentally, to the welfare system.
Baz - that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever read.
You can add me to the traitor list then Bazzwillrun, I've never heard such a load of white supremacist guff in all my life.
"Traitor" and proud.
@mikey444

"AB is fast turning into a place where racists can rant. You should be ashamed of yourselves. "

and another one who thinks only his opinions count and anybody else is a racist if you dont share his warped mentalty for the safety and future of this country.

its people like you who should be ashamed, for not standing up for this country and protecting its future
I was only a little kid to be fair Jim and we were in Malibu, and the sheer level of weirdness, paranoia, lack of public transport, treating people who are 20 as if they are 5, religious lunacy, feeling they have a right to interfere in what other people are doing etc and so on left me never really wanting to go there ever again if at all possible. I will one day however to make sure that my opinion is not blinkered by being so young at the time, but I do still have a friends there and my one particular friend whose father is English tends to agree with me, he just can't espcape yet.
"I've never heard such a load of white supremacist guff"

case rested, another one who doesnt like any body elses opinions if they dont agree with them on immigration and what its done/doing to this country

so blinkered its beyond belief
You can have whatever opinions you like Baz but when you start with the ' happy when there isn't a white face' etc you lose your own argument because you come off as a xenophobic idiot. If you oppose immigration on legitimate grounds fair enough, but read your post back, it just sounds rabid and ill thought out.
The country you are talking about baz died already, in about 1940-something.
"I have a certain amount of sympathy for the philosophy of VHG.

To all intended immigrants into the UK:

If you have skills that we need.....WELCOME.

If you have a sound financial basis.......WELCOME. "

So you would welcome the optician that started VHG's rant in the first place then?
Good point, Kevin.
So it's knee jerk reactions all round then is it.
It seems that the subject of immigration can bring out the best and the worst in people and that while the left get their knickers in a twist over the "fascists" of the right, no-one is having the conversation that needs to be had,
How many people can this country support?
Which cultural differences are acceptable?
Is the treatment of immigrants preferential. (As perceived by the indigenous population)
How much of our culture should be subsumed for the sake of "cultural harmony"?

This conversation needs to be had now because the animosity that is building up against all immigrants will erupt off this I am certain.
kevin........of course......if we needed Opticians ( i have no idea of their scarcity)

I am NOT a soothsayer......i cannot vouch for the future conduct of mankind, but i can have an opinion on regulations and conditions that i feel would assist in the financial and well being of my country of birth.
two questions

what does //standing up for this country and protecting its future// mean in practice?

at what point - a rough decade would do- did this country stop being idyllic?
As I've argued in a few threads, mainly AOG's, this country "stopped being idyllic" some time after the childhood of the elder generation. This is always true regardless of when precisely that generation was born, though.

The "problem" of race in particular emerged around about the 1950s, when immigrants from the former colonies started making their way here. It got heated for a while, but things settled down within a decade and Jamaicans and Indians, etc., are very much a part of society now. The same will happen, for the most part, within the next ten or twenty years for the current wave of immigration. Any tensions are there are may blow up in a small way, but nothing large-scale. Ironically that's because of the "British values" VHG and baz celebrate, including a reserved attitude to actually doing anything.
Yes, but cheer up VHG.

. They were only enslaving and assaulting another foreigner, not one of us. That's not our problem is it? Why should we care ? If they were back home, of course, they wouldn't be costing us money to prosecute them, I'll give you that, Sunshine.
"but read your post back, "

i suggest thats exactly what you do, read it back carefully

and then point out the part where I said, that I wanted a "whites only " country

you lot keep on getting you blood pressure up and knickers twisted but I have much more important things to do on a Saturday than waste it on here

Seeyas laters !
Young people have always been naively idealistic, that's expected.
But when/why did 'champagne' socialists develop such contempt for the working class people of this country.
I hardly think I'm naively idealistic. I'm basing my views on British history, on pragmatism, and on a fairly well-read if not yet fully-developed understanding of things. One way or another a "keep everyone out" view is both unworkable and completely undesirable.
