So - the Cap on Benefits will commence, along with a chorus of moaning minnies who say they can't possibly manage and will have to cut down on food and heating -so bloody what!!! If two working people had the misfortune of one of them losing their job they would have to cut down until things got better - your weekly cheque is a benefit For Funks Sake not a wage - Some WORKING couples barely clear £500 after off takes -this makes my blood boil -people these days are like spoilt children when they get their sweeties taken away - Quote from one moaning minnie this a.m. on TV '' I've tried to get work in the past but for me its not an option'' -then suck it up madam- if you want the State to provide for you then cut down and budget like the working families have to.

magsmay-does it matter whether it's a user name or real name? Do the poster the curtesy of getting it right...the first time.
My user name is Sharingan, (if I were my father you'd have been mauled to pieces by now), I am more polite but I am not tolerating you starting this nonsense on every thread I post,so please stop it. I wouldn't call you Maggiethatcher so please have the good manners to call me by my chosen user name. It's common politeness, and the word Sharingan is not from a role playing game, it's from the Manga Naruto, it's a form of all seeing eye. Age ought not to be an excuse for being rude.
Em, I know working people who don't have children because they can’t afford to – but lack of money doesn’t seem to stop people who live on benefits.
Em, if they stopped subsidising the rent of the low paid one of two things would happen.
Wages would have to rise to realistic levels.
Landlords would have to charge realistic rents.
At the moment we're subsidising the wealthy with cheap cleaners etc.
We're making a lot of landlords extremely wealthy.
Rents are not artificially inflated in the capital, there are plenty of people earning enough to pay £3k rent per month, rental markets will not change with this, you'll just clear London of poor people whicnh is I imagine what they'd like to do.

Really? How do you know this?
"Your name is not Sharingan that is your user name -which comes from role playing games -one such being the role playing game NOX"

Seriously, you two, shut up. Not sure about anyone else, but having to read this on every single thread that the both of you are on is, quite frankly, doing my head in.

Wages need to increase, it's as simple as that. Something is seriously wrong when people are "better off" staying at home on benefits than going to work.
I'm not sure what benefits they're on though because since I lost my job, the money I am 'entitled' to is shockingly bad. Certainly not £500 a week, that's for sure!
I agree that rental prices are ridiculously high, but that's all down to the banks. People have this misconception of landlords being wealthy, but the majority of them are just scraping by and are up to their eyes in debt with massive mortgages.
It's rather common knowledge. Have a look at Estate Agents in London, my mother's flat on Gower Street is being rented out for something like that and she's never short of people who want to rent it. It's a capital city, people come there to earn large amounts of money and they can.
Madmen- yes it's doing my head in as well, but please don't tell me to 'shut up'- I NEVER start this, it's her obsession not mine.

sharingan -I'm not getting dragged into character assassination -I'm not being rude I was just making a point -if you think anyone who has a different opinion from you is rude then you are going to have a very unhappy life -and get over this age thing -really! //walking away//
No, but you feed it, and it's annoying.

Sharingan, I think your view may be a bit blinkered on that.

People work in London because that's where the work is. I know plenty of people who work in London and either have to live in shared accommodation just to make ends meet or have no choice but to live out of town and spend huge amounts of money commuting every day.
Sharingan, So you're basing your grossly flawed opinion on your vast experience of one rented flat in Gower Street. Thought it might be something like that.
I asked you to use my correct name, that's not something to have an 'opinion' on, that's a factual piece of information.

you haven't been reading anything from me recently as I've been suspended for nearly 2 weeks -no one is forcing you to read anything - .
You post a thread that people are clearly interested in talking about and then we have to trawl through your petty arguments to find things that are actually relevant. It's pathetic.
Sharingan. Any society populated with 'highflyers' (& £3,000 a mth rent would put them in that category) would soon grind to a halt without 'blue-collar' workers to keep it going.
I'd like £500 per week please.

Both Mr Boo and I work (albeit I work part time) and don't take home anywhere near that amount.
can someone come up with the facts that plenty of people could afford 3k a month rent, because i know of no one past or present who could.
LOL...........

I like both Shari AND magsmay..........good stuff from two strong, opinionated women...............
