personally, I think humans are the lowest animals.
It rarely surprises me what some humans are capable of. It's a miracle the brain works in a decent manner for anyone when I think of how complex it is. When I was young an naive I thought such activities must be confined to the past: now I think it is just the power of a well fed society that it is not seen everywhere. Our species has a long way to go.

/// David Cameron has threatened to withhold UK aid from governments that do not reform legislation banning homosexuality. ///

David Cameron said this in October 2011.

/// Besides the homosexuality rights issue, Sri Lanka's human rights conduct also came under scrutiny at the summit. The country will host the next head of government's meeting in two years' time. ///

Isn't it now time that Britain withdrew all aid to Sri-Lanka?

Isn't this proof that all humans are not equal?

UK aid to Sri Lanka helps people who have been made homeless by the government's war on the Tamil Tigers.

Witholding it because the Sri Lankan Government executed a Tamil child would not be particularly sensible would it?

If you want to pressure them - we should stop selling them UK weapons

I think the point here is they ARE human beings. Human beings have been displaying this behaviour since existence.
I
I was in Sri Lanka shortly after the Tsunami and foreign aid was either being withheld from the populace, or sold to people at a cost. Another corrupt third world government.
Frankly our aid to Shri lanka is negligable, about 2 million this year

That's in a country of over 20 Million

Ironically we got about the same amount in small arms contracts like the sort used to shoot that boy.

Given that our aid is also going to a program to remove land mines, threats to stop aid are somewhat ironic and pointless.

As I say we could threaten to stop selling them weapons but Cameron's devotion to tackling such issues seems to stop short of anything that might affect our sales of weapons
I remember I was in Sri Lanka a few years back and there was a que of traffic with an abulance trying to get past. You could actually see people doing CRP throught the partially blacked out windows. Absolutely nobody tried to move out of the way at all. Actually after around 5 minutes when we got through the traffic lights it was in the same position of traffic it was in previously. Now again that is disgusting too.
humans are crazy. everyone is mad, not just the sri lankan army but all people. even we are mad with some of the things we do in england
The amount of kids getting stabbed to death in the UK and nothing really been done to tackle it you are right the UK is just as bad.
// If you want to pressure them - we should stop selling them UK weapons //

That wouldn't pressure them. They'd just buy them somewhere else. It might make us feel a bit better though.

It does seem futile to bring David Cameron into this - he's too busy playing cricket in India.
Please don't call them animals, you insult animals.
