It's not so much an incentive to do it, it's an incentive not to act responsibly and not do it. Clearly she wanted to reproduce excessively and does not seem to care she could not afford to, knowing the tax payers would pick up the tab due to councils who have more sympathy with those demanding aid than those trying to cover the costs of a decent society. Seems councils often have a one sided stance, possibly because if you disagree you don't get promoted maybe ?

Ummmm, unlikely indeed. The system was intended to be a safety net - not a lifestyle choice - but for many, that's exactly what it is.
desktop - aren't you living in a housing association property?
Naomi - and it should change asap.
desktop, many people don't get anything from anyone - and don't expect to. Quite rightly they take responsibility for themselves.
It's because you don't have 11 children, desktop. It's not the children's fault that they were born into the family. And I also asume that as mrdesktop works that'll be a factor. But I agree that our welfare system sends the wrong message, but every attempt to curb it is met with howls of protests
The whole system needs a bloody good shake up. Stop increasing benefits, and start increasing wages.
i wonder at someone age 36 having 11 children, didn't she hear of family planning, as to her working, don't think that is likely. Not sure why this sort of case doesn't surprise me, but it doesn't.
so what would you do with this family?

no saying i agree btw but what do you do?

to be fair Em she is now sterile for which I am sorry - until she stated she would have had more children!!
there is nothing you can do...

Fluff - i would make them stay where they are - carry out a conversion on the house they are in.

Find her a part time job so she is earning the housing and child benefit she is getting and possibly tax credits.
big family more benefits, unlikely she had that lot just to get benefits but for heavens sake who needs 11 kids or more in this day and age, especially if you are unable to support them yourself. Does it say if it's more than one dad, or that she gets any kind of help from them if so.
She got pregnant with the first at 14. The second at 17 with a different man. It didn't mention who fathered the rest but she is currently married.
Question Author
There is at least two dads - although tbf it does not mention what other benefits she gets - it does mention a husband but again does not mention if he is working or not.

In other similar stories they are normally keen to get across if they are working or not.
They are usually keen to point out they are not working and there's at least 5 dads.
maybe they need to encourage kids to look at careers and the future when they are in secondary school, there are so many kids that are allowed to fall through the cracks and end up like this.
the daily mail likes to get backs up!
It might improve now they can't leave school until they are 18.
