Will we see the Bulgarians and Romanians taking over from the Poles?

How will our schools cope let alone out benefits systems that will no doubt be milked.

I have never come across any form that asks for a breakdown of Nationality. They might ask for place of birth or when you achieved nationality. There might be a section asking for your ethnic grouping. But Nationality is Nationality is Nationality. Some people, it is true can hold dual Nationality. But you cant become a British Pakistani National or a British Russian National.
Does no-one see the difference between occupying someone else's country by military force and peacefully emigrating somewhere?
"if someone once asked you your nationality, one would say English, Irish, Scottish, Welsh, am i right?, if so then what do we call someone who is born here in England to Pakistani parents? this is where it all falls to bits. "

I think a lot of people, the last case included, would say "British" as a matter of fact. You are confusing nationality and ethnicity. I'm Irish ethnically but my passport says British.
the British break down into constituent groups when it suits them - football - and regroup when it doesn't - the Olympics.
most forms do these days, I filled one in at the local CAB, and it had many boxes, tick White British, British Asian, Afro Caribbean, the census is the same as far as i remember.
/Those of the Empire who kicked us out of 'their' country thought so" /

That's what happens with Empires aog - it's a natural process played out throughout history

As is usually the case, our Empire caused and left behind a lot of issues around the world with untidy and artificial borders and ethnic groupings and the consequences of mass slavery into the Caribbean and America but it is also remarkable that so many parts of the world still happily retain a little bit of British-ness.
that's a question about culture, not nationality, em. They're trying to collate statistics to see who has most need of their services
jno, not the only form i have filled in that says tick box for x y z
JNO is right. Those are not nationality questions, as I said above. Quite different.
i think this is run it's course, and strayed off the original post, we have differing views.
Most forms for employment, or government have those questions now Em. They are nothing to do with Nationality. In some cases it is not even obligitary to fill them in. It just helps with national information.

I think it has become a very interesting post actually.
//i think this is run it's course, and strayed off the original post, we have differing views. //

Yep - but dont worry - there'll be another one along soon , and we'll start all over again
But god help the country we emmigrate to because we are all lazy! ;o

This has got to be the most ridiculous sentence I have ever read !!!!!!!!!!!!
there are some changes over recent years that have happened in Britain that have been good, but there is an awful lot that isn't. I don't think the powers that be really thought through so many people entering the country from wherever. the council leaders, school heads and NHS bosses have been all singing from the same hymn sheet on this one.
That increased population needs to be balanced with resources, and some may feel that they have contributed all their lives to this country, and got little or nothing in return, whilst seeing some more recent arrivals getting better treatment, which would seem patently unfair.
Can you not recognise a joke aimed at myself PiedPiper!!! OMG.
Did you not see the ;o) I put after it!! Oh dear. Am off now.
me too.
Oh. Em as well. Am I surprised........................... No
Sorry LL. I just cannot accept that any overwhelming opinion is that the British are, at large, lazy.
