Flood Warnings

I heard on the BBC news programme this morning that householders can sign up for flood alerts on their properties by phone or text by registering on the Environment Agency website.

As I have a river at the bottom of my garden, I thought this would be a good idea. I've just tried to register by entering my postcode only to be told that the service does not apply to my property.

You couldn't make it up, could you?

I wonder how many home insurance companies have access to this information? Maybe you've had a lucky escape.
