Although I disliked Jimmy Saville during his life time, is it fair that all these allegations are now coming to the surface now he is dead?
/// ‘I was angry that everyone kept saying how great he was.’ Now, she says she wants to see him stripped of his knighthood posthumously. ///
One has to ask why in all those years hasn't this woman and all the others come forward before with their stories?

Any number of his colleagues have also said that there was some truth to these rumours, not least Paul Gambacini, though one wonders why he or others didn't do something about it.
What a scoop indeed , aog. And what a bankrupting series of libel actions to lose or settle, with Savile crowing about how innocent he was. An editor of The Daily Mirror said he had the story at the time but decided, on balance, not to publish. His reason was that he didn't think the material would withstand the inevitable libel action.
Little children expecting a once-in-a-lifetime happy surprise, as with those on Jim'll Fix It, would be only too happy to go along with whatever they were told to do. As for "why did they not speak up at the time?" well, that is what bullying predators thrive on, reinforced with threats to say silent and that no-one will believe you anyway if you say something nasty about someone as wonderful and powerful as me. It's difficult to imagine the private agonies of vulnerable little ones who suffer such traumas and even go through spells of guilt.

Just another thought, I wonder if the monies that these women will be getting from the press for their stories, will be donated by them to certain 'women abuse' charities?

Yes, that should stop him from doing it again.
em10 - would be extemely surprised if the press are not paying for the exclusive rights to these stories. This may explain why so many of them are coming out of the woodwork. 15 minutes of fame plus a few quid.
I may be wrong though.
