you can't be both, sorry. Saints don't sin.
>>>Saints don't sin.

You cant tell me every person who is a saint has never sinned.

For example at randon I looked up Francis of Assisi and it says:

"Francis was the son of a wealthy cloth merchant in Assisi, and he lived the high-spirited life typical of a wealthy young man, even fighting as a soldier for Assisi"

You cant tell me "high-spirited life typical of a wealthy young man" did not include a bit of womanising, drinking and other debauchery before he saw the light.
Saint
This topic was raised within a few days of his death last year. I don't know what good it does to those allegedly abused, now he's gone.
In case people dont know, ITV are showing a "warts and all" documentary about Saville on Wednesday night where a number of women say they were abused by him when they were much younger.

We will never know as he is not here to confess or defend himself
so what good will it do, now...?
I met him once in the late 60's and all the women present thought he has a perv.

Both, you can't have one without the other. (recent accusations have left me some what dismayed)

Angel X
Wasn't is St Agustine of Hippo who prayed: 'Lord, grant me chastity and continence, but not yet...' So it seems a saint can also be a sinner.
Savile seems to have been a pervert who got away with it.
Without wishing to condone what Saville did (if he did it) the problem is the "pop world" almost encourages this sort of thing.

11 and 12 year old girls screaming at One Direction (or other male groups).

Groups with names with slight sexual connotations "Sex Pistols, Take That etc.

Young boys lusting after female artists like Britney Spears, dressed up as a schoolgirl singing "Hit me baby one more time" (if that is not a sexual "term" I dont know what is).

And look at how some pop artists like say Robbie Williams (and many others) brag about how many girls they have bedded.

As long as the pop world has this "allure" you are always going to attract people who want to take advantage of young men and young women.
VHG....excellent post....I agree.
"Without wishing to condone what Saville did (if he did it) the problem is the "pop world" almost encourages this sort of thing"

What a stupendously stupid thing to say
Nothing encourages anyone to be a paedophile, ever
I absolutely believe these girls and long ago said Saville made me feel very uncomfortable and I have never been in his company
Made my skin crawl even through the TV set
Sinner (by all accounts). But, he's dead now, so it seems pointless to bring it all up.
His behaviour harmed his victims. If bringing it up helps them that's hardly pointless.
Your opinion, not mine.
I agree with sandy; if they can get some sort of closure then surely it is to their benefit?

The more I read, the more deeply disturbing Jim "fixing" it becomes.
I've got a number of friends in the tv industry and when he died, I was at a party where someone famous from the BBC said, "It's only a matter of time before the stories are going to start leaking out about him".

Also, I remember another friend telling me that there was a shedload of dirt about Saville around the time that Louis Theroux did that documentary about him. We were having a conversation about the programme and I admitted that there seemed to be something 'off' about him, but I couldn't put my finger on it.

Horrible for his family for it to come out now, but would it have been better for it to have come out whilst he was alive? Even when found innocent of charges - mud sticks (ask Michael Barrymore and John Leslie).
Ask him, but don't go to one of his pool parties.
