Ty for your comment on my "sermon" - later maybe "sermons" after my Part 2, lol. Understood and service ended - please don't forget to drop money in the begging tray! .
You make an excellent chairperson in this debate in trying to keep us rabble in order and stick to the point - great challenge on AB - well tied Sir. Well done!

The Paralympics is not the forum to make such protest. It is also a disrespect to the medallists.

Disgraceful and those who did boo should feel ashamed of themselves.
"doesn't" Bazile - learn some English
use of the word //cretin// on a thread about the paralympics ...

...hmm
oh dear forum spelling nazi alert !
If i'd been there I would have booed too. I have no respect for Osborne.

Because of him and this current government's policies on disability benefit I have already lost one friend to suicide.
Nothing to do with spelling or Nazis Baz - its called grammar - its the rules of our language that govern the way in which we speak to each other ! Look it up and perhaps you will not make criticisms that betray your ignorance.
Gladeian, I don't claim to be hot on the subject of grammar and punctuation but in your last post there are some glaringly obvious errors. Perhaps you should be practicing what you preach?
"No, they should just chose a more appropriate time and place" Where and when, exactly would that be.

They only booed him, they cheered the medalists. Trust me if you can hear it that loudly on the TV the vast majority were booing.

He is leading this country in to a prolonged recession and blaming everything and everyone, apart from himself, for it. Far from making us look stupid it made it obvious.
I don't know Dave, maybe they could plan a protest. I'm not saying they are wrong in their opinion, just their chosen time to voice it.

I had no idea ,that posters on this site are participating in an english language examination .

You sound like a very sad person

You a sad person , you What a sad person
@Gladian It would be far more interesting to address the points raised, rather than indulging in petty points scoring over trivial issues such as spelling. And your intemperate outburst calling those who do not share your particular political view "cretins" does nothing to further your own argument. You sound like a petulant child.

As best I can tell, watching the clip, the booing was directed at Osborne, and stopped when the medal was presented. The audience were clearly aiming their displeasure at the Chancellor, rather than spoiling the athletes moment of glory.

The people in that audience are intimately involved with the proposed changes to disability living allowance that are distressed and annoyed at some of these changes - they have a perfect right in a democracy to express their displeasure. As for a politician being embarassed in public - they develop thick skins very rapidly or leave politics. No need to feel any sympathy for them.
EvianBaby - perhaps you would like to point to the glaring errors to which you allude
Ok, as I said I'm no expert so I'll have missed a few but I'll just highlight the couple I noticed.

"Nothing to do with spelling or Nazis Baz - its called grammar - its it's [i the rules of our language that govern the way in which we speak to each other ! [i] no space needed before the ! ] Look it up and perhaps you will not make criticisms that betray your ignorance."

If you're going to be such a pedant you really ought to make sure you're own is correct.

trigger - let's be politically correct: George Gideon Oliver Osborne to be precise.
Evianbaby,
the same goes for you.

"...practicing what you preach" and "...you're own.."
So this guy wins a Gold medal, and the crowd spoil the greatest moment of his life just to make a political point?

I think that's terrible.
Question Author
JJ - not at all. Watch the link. The booing subsided when the gold medal winner stepped forward to receive his medal and cheering filled the stadium.
I have watched it.

I think they made it clear to the athlete that he was getting a bedal from an unpopular person ... which will have taken some of the gloss off his great moment. And also, when he was waiting to receive his medal, they were not interested in him, and only interested in scoring a political point while he had to stand there and wait.
Question Author
Ermm and why is the person unpopular?
