How can Islam expect anything but disdain from the civilised world when this sort of thing happens? Traditional practice apparently!

I think everyone is qualified to comment and since none of us know diddly squat in real life about any of the others, no-one ought to consider themselves to be in a position whereby they can judge anyone else's suitability to comment. A debate is one thing, a witch hunt is quite another.
Nox, If you’re talking about me, I overlooked Pixi’s error in what she’s written, but that appears to have resulted in you grasping the wrong end of the stick entirely. I didn’t say she isn’t qualified to comment. What I actually said (on another thread) was:

//you don’t speak as a Muslim woman born into an eastern culture, so quite frankly, you are not qualified to speak for those that are.//

And she's not. None of us are in that position.

It’s not very nice to accuse people of conducting witch hunts, but if you insist on doing it, I suggest you get your facts straight first.
Naomi, I don't care who has what religion or indeed lack of it. That is no-one's business but he and his God (or indeed lack of), unless it affects the rest of us. The only thing I do find dsiturbing is the vehement rubbishing of anyone else's opinions that don't correspond by the increasingly dogmatic atheists on here. I am not religious ( at least not in a sense that you would understand) so this is not from a 'them and us' perspective, it's from simple observation of the way things are going. I enjoy seeing you debate, it's what people should do more, but I don't enjoy the intentional denigration of other users who have certainly not got the wrong end of the stick, but have come back fairly and squarely and poked holes in something you have said. This is what has happened with Pixi on this thread because she has another perspective. It's not nice.
I have re-read the thread twice and indeed the other similar thread and I don't consider that I have my facts wrong.
Jno. It is completely different. Someone attacks you sexually. Are you going to accept that marriage to that person makes it alright? There is no excuse for such an attack. More likely to lead to further violence. Note you do not state your gender.
Nox, but you haven't poked holes in something I've said. You've poked holes in something I haven't said. If you don't consider you have your facts wrong, tell me where you have them right.
Naomi, read my post again, I was referring to Pixi poking holes in something you had said, not myself. I have already stated, fairly broadly why I think I have my facts right- my previous posts explain that, I really don't need to do it again, it's there for you to read.
DaisyNonna, where on earth have I said there was an excuse for such an attack?
Nox, I've read your post again and I still don't know what you're talking about. If you have a complaint, let's hear it.
