I wonder how much the West gave to the Mujahedin fighting the Russians in the 80s. But we called those 'freedom Fighters' nor Terrorists.

And certainly no one was deported for supporting the plucky Afghan Mujahedin.
^ “... And certainly no one was deported for supporting the plucky Afghan Mujahedin.”

Maybe because they didn't enter the 'West' illegally so there was nowhere to deport them to...
He lives in council accommodation................why not offer the houses on either side of him to members of the BNP.
this man does not care for our civilised lifestyle, except the benefits that it affords, and words count as much as deeds, he should be deported to anywhere that will take him. I cannot understand those who say we are better than that, yet if this man is instrumental in turning young people to a life of hatred against the west then he is a traitor. As was Oswald Mosley, who should have been hanged.
Would all these people defending the system be spouting the same opinions if it had been a member of the EDL who been preaching racist views? I think not!
they would likely be ushered off the street into jail.
If the EU want to protect his rights, invite him to Brussels and then let's see.
//He hasn't killed anyone, and as far as we know, does not have blood on his hands.//

I suppose, aside from his WWI military record, the same could have been said of Hitler. Make no mistake. This man is at war with us - he hates this country - and those who defend this legal debacle must bear some moral responsibility for any future atrocity he encourages his cohorts to commit. They need to decide where their loyalties lie.
"those who defend this legal debacle must bear some moral responsibility for any future atrocity he encourages his cohorts to commit."

that being the legal juridiction in which we al lmust abide, from top judges down.

he hasn't been charged with anything. and certainly if he was "at war with us" then this would merit his incarceration. but no, nothing to put him inside - so what are we to do ? hold him without charge indefinitely ?
//so what are we to do ? hold him without charge indefinitely ? //

No. Get rid of him.
Whatever we do has to be within the framework of law, to do otherwise is to behave in a way which is ill becoming of a western democracy. Do you seriously want us to go down the route of jaling people who have not been charged or found guilty of a crime? I have had some personal experience of seeing internment at work, and believe me you really don't want that- it leaves a nasty precedent for the state to jail anyone who doesn't agree with them - without trial.
Nox, //Do you seriously want us to go down the route of jaling people who have not been charged or found guilty of a crime?//

If you’re talking to me, no I don’t, and I didn't say that - but this man has been declared a threat to national security and I seriously want us to get rid of him.
But it has been decalred unlawful to do so- so we can't. End of.
Some laws are bad - and this is one of them. The security of this country and its people should be the priority - not the rights of someone who would happily see its demise and its inhabitants dead.
Let's have a look at this,
We don't want him.
The Jordanians do 'want' him.
Done deal, kick him out, he has no regard for the people of this Country who have fed and housed him for far too long, let's see if he gets away with it in Jordan.
Maybe his disappearance could be arranged!!
I agree some laws are very bad Naomi, but just because you don't like a law doesn't mean you can disregard it, change it by all means, but not disregard it.
It is likely that an appeal will include assurances from Jordan that evidence gained from torture will not be given against him... there have already been assurances he will not be tortured. Should those assurances be accepted it should be possible to deport him at a later date. In the interim he may be involved in criminal activity enabling him to be rearrested, charged and tried and legally imprisoned.

He could of course be attacked and beaten to death in the street as part of a 'hate crime' and the perpetrators found and charged (or not) we will have to wait and see I suspect... my feeling is he will get what is coming eventually
I agree Rowan, I wouldnt want to walk down the street in his shoes/sandals.
Nox, It isn't a case of not liking the law, but rather of acknowledging and rectifying the flaw in it.
