Jesus if I was Innocent and that happened to me I'd also sell my story. I would'nt call it blood money, I'd call it compensation!
As a previous poster has said, Amanda Knox doesn't owe the parents of Meredith anything.

She waas wrongly imprisoned for murder and lost 4 years of her life. She is absolutely justified in making money out of her horrific experience at the hands of the Italian judiciary - I damn well know I would.

Believing she is guilty, in one's opinion, doesn't make it so - the opinion of, for example, atrollope, has been formed solely from the media reports and that is an unreliable way to form an opinion of somebody's guilt or innocence.
Philtaz

It's not mercenary - she was jailed for four years. She was released on appeal. She's not making money out of someone else's death - she's getting payback for her own incarceration. I want to reiterate - as far as we know, she is 100% innocent of murder, and has spent four years in jail. Those are the only facts that should apply.
Question Author
Fair enough sp1814,

I didn't say she was a murderer, just that her behaviour on the night of it was decidedly odd and her actions more than suggest she isn't telling the whole truth about her actions and whereabouts on the night, maybe that's why she was prepared to see Lumumbu spend time in jail instead of her.

As you point out, she's 100% innocent of murder.

So was OJ Simpson........

Let's not forget too that
Question Author
Don't know how that 'Let's not forget too' appeared on the end of my post!
ah yes, OJ Simpson... the prosecution had the very glove he'd worn on the night of the murder...

except it didn't fit him. Collapse of prosecution case.

There's a reason why people get found not guilty.
Does anyone know how they would act after their friend and flat mate has been brutally murdered. How you would act when you realise that the finger is being pointed at you. People do strange things under pressure.
As far as I'm aware OJ is *still* innocent of murder. He was acquitted in a court of law.........
Question Author
They certainly do ummmm, like switching off their mobile phone on the night it happened and turning somersaults in a police station whilst waiting to be questioned.
If, as the courts have decided, this woman is innocent, then she, and her family, have suffered a hell that none of us can possibly imagine, and she has every right to tell her story. She served four years in prison for an appalling crime that she didn't commit, and I'm willing to bet that in the same situation anyone else would do exactly the same - despite what they say.
The 'turning somersaults' incident has been shown to be an exaggeration.
Turning off their mobiles?!?! How outrageously suspicious.....!
Question Author
Patrick Lumumbu didn't commit any crime either naomi but Knox with her false testimony would have been happy to see him carry the can.

As I say, she knows far more than she ever told the Police.
Fortunately, behaviour perceived as being 'odd' by the media is not in itself enough to convict someone of a murder - otherwise half the 'celbrities' in the world would be in chokey as I write - sorry Ms Gaga, for wearing seriously strange clothes, you are herby banged up!

Sound ludicrous? Good - it is!
I gather that the Police asked her if she thought it was possible that Lamumba was involved.....and that she said it was *possible*.......everything else was extrapolated from that. Part of the sentence she has already served is for the 'slandering' of Lamumba.

The police had their own agenda when it came to Lamumba.

When did she confide in you that she didn't tell the whole story, philtaz?
Question Author
Yeah, very suspicious when your boyfriend turns his off at exactly the same time.

Ponder these too:

"she knows far more than she ever told the Police"

You'll have to buy her book, then, Philtaz!
No.
Most of those have been dealt with, or shown to be fallacious.......

Or have been disregarded by the Italian Justice system.

Remember it is a universal truth (almost) that it is *guilt* which has to be proven and NOT innocence.
Question Author
Why would I do that jno? Unless of course she's going to tell the truth........
Philtaz - you seem unable to accept that a court of law - full of people who do this for a living - have concluded that this woman is not guilty of murder.

It matters not one jot - from her 'behaviour' to the fact that her name begins with a K - all the suspicion in the world which is pumped up by the media to sell papers is not going to alter the fact, she has Not Guilty.

Why do you personally have a problem with that?
Question Author
Opinion is obviously divided on this, throughout UK, Italian, USA society and the media.

Just because it's been through an Italian court of law doesn't make it all 100% correct, as even the judge admitted.

I'm merely pointing out that there are miscarriages of injustice, as well as justice.
