They say they will stay till Christmas. I wonder if the parade can go ahead now?
Should they be "forced out" now?
if so, how could this be be enforced,
The Bankers don't give a stuff that these people are protesting !, and what have they achieved by it?

But ultimately it was pointless...... so what about all those 'prood' Tyne and Wearsiders we hear so much about?

not sure where your'e coming from jack, was it pointless, I am not sure it was, we don't starve today no matter what our social standing is, are you a supporter of the "campers" down in the Capital?
without coming across as being nasty, I'm not, I enjoy a debate such as this, if you are, why aren't you there with them?
It would be good if they could move their camp out of the way for the few hours of the parade...it never hurts to show respect and public opinion is often swayed by such simple acts... Protests, and demos have made a difference... The key is to combine them with work within the system too, lobbying, and putting forward sensible and powerful arguments in the media as well...
Question Author
Oh God, before I am jumped on here I should have referred to them as protesters...sorry

theyll find somewhere else to go
Question Author
well said Rowan, lobby their MPs as you have done, they may be heard better for this
Yeah...some people can't afford to be there.
Question Author

that's because the Capitalist state has them firmly under it's heel U m m m ;-)

Bobbi- you have to be on every protest or demonstration to support what people are doing- that's just silly, oh and I asked the onjly three veterans I know personally, two said they support them and one said he didn't care one way or the other, but it's their right to protest as they see fit.
Very small poll I know but quite interesting I thought since all of these chaps are in their 80's.
Question Author
haha, same as the Jarrow hunger marchers Dr, ...
but may I just point out that this is straying somewhat from my original OP, only slightly mind you :-)
Question Author
NOX, support can take many forms?
I support their right to protest and if it turns out to be a fruitless endeavour, well, so be it.
I support the rights of anyone to take to the streets to high-light the inequities of a situation.
They will have NO impact on the Armistice Day parades as you seem to be concerned they might.
Of course support can take many forms- you asked why people who supported them ' weren't there with them'- I was just addressing that point.
Question Author
not a personal concern of mine Jack, it has been on the News though

Question Author

Question Author
