I think the general public are beginning to see what Labour and the Lib/Dem's policies have done to this country, and they are now ready to take on board more right wing issues.
Therefore I think the Tories will get in next time without being shackled by the Lib/Dems.
Not sure about Cameron as the leader though.

Getting back to the original question and leaving aside pure politics.
Ed did no harm to Labour at this stage . He told a few home truths which may take a while to sink in. His problem and that of the party is their relience on the unions . I have read that 100 Labour MPs are sponsored and financially supported by a union. We know that the party wanted Dave and were outvoted by the union vote. This is not a healthy situation in a so called democratic party in a democratic country.
I know the arguments about how the Tories and the Lib/Dems also receive large donations but they don't have thousands of votes from non party members who happen to belong to a party political organisation like a union.
