Looks like a Red Arrow has crashed at the Bournmouth airshow. Let`s hope he/she is OK. The coastguard has been involved. Maybe it went into the sea.

Sky news does't know what happened to the pilot. I do hope they are ok.
that comes from having ttfn at the controls....
just heard - terrible news
I hope they are o.k too. Close relatives must be so upset.

Looks like it happened over land. Let`s hope it was high enough for the pilot to be able to eject. Nobody seems to have seen that happen though so it doesn`t look too good at the mo. Early days though.
that is worse as that can involve buidings underneath........

Looks like it was a in a field DT
just outside the airport....Beeb News
So long as the seat works .. one can eject from 50 feet.
Let's hope they banged out safely .. or not really badly injured if a crash landing was attempted. Apparently near Throop village.
I suppose this could be component failure/birdstrike, or pilot error.
Still no sight of pilot. They are not saying anything. Doesnt look good.
Question Author
No, it doesn`t does it. The only saving grace was there was no fire but an aircraft with bits scattered over an area - I reckon he/she`s a goner. Sad.
They've been having a few accidents recently

It could have been a shortage of fuel, no fire when crashing. A few years ago, at Eastbourne Airbourne, a microlight strayed into the airspace while the Red Arrows were displaying. They immediately assembled well away from the area but were unable to complete their display because they would not have had enough fuel.
Aircraft on displays do not run out of fuel.
The Daily Wail has reported that the pilot was dragged from the river by some members of the public who were walking their dogs nearby. I hope this is true and that he is still alive.
Question Author
Yep, could have been low on fuel. I`ve seen videos of crashes where there has indeed been a fire started in an engine on crashing but as the plane skids along, so much crap has gone into the engines that the fire is almost immediately extinguished again. What amazes me most, after looking at Jake`s link, is that someone has already put it on Wikipedia!

"Eyewitnesses describe a dramatic rescue attempt by dog walkers, who jumped into the water and pulled the pilot out. It's not clear whether he managed to eject or not."
Yep, they're quick all right on there!
Daffy ... One of the crew is a lady.
