I run to keep fit on a regular basis but on the last two occasions when i have come back and gone to the toilet i have had discoloured urine,a pinkish, slightly bloody colour. On the first occasion i called nhs direct and they advised that because i just come back from holiday and hadn't dran as uch as i should and hadn't done any exercise for two weeks this could be the reason or because i might have a slight water infection or be heavily dehidrated. I have since rehidrated myself and have had no problems, apart from when i run? i will see a doctor but its hard to get in, can anyone advise meantime?

Have it tested properly by your GP.

NHS Direct ? what do you expect them to know?
Stop running until you've seen your GP, could be serious, could be nothing but find out first.
This could be a kidney stone ( I've had three so I know what Im talking about ) the resone this could only happen when you run is that when you are bouncing along, the stone is scraping you Ureta ( the tube that connects your bladder to your kidney ) so hence the blood.

Do you feel sick or have dull pain in your left or right flank, get this seen to immediately, kidney stones are horrendous the pain is more painful than childbirth according to women who have given birth and had kidney stones.

I had them and I wanted to kill myself, the pain is nothing like I've experience before and let me tell you I'm ex-army so I've experienced some pain LOL( shin splints, running on burst blisters for another 12 miles LOL )

Seriously though get checked out xxx
