Thisis what happens when a section of society feel they are disenfranchied.
Many people feel their rights have been ignored by their government and finally they react in what they see as their only response , violence.
In this case it was multi-cultureism . I'm not surprised it may have originated in the UK, our governments have not only allowed easy immigration but have tolerated the extreme radicalists.

I quite agree Jake. Trying to change Muslim societies in Iraq and Afghanistan have been a complete failure. Cameron obviously hasn't learnt the lessons by targetting Libya as most Libyans want Gaddafi to stay in power. Power seems to corrupt our politicians.....failure is a thing they never admit to.
Not sure about "most" certainly a significant number do - he's done a huge amount to develop infrastructure like health in Lybia - a real carrot and stick man!

The objective though was clearly regieme change in both cases and with dubious legality in both.
My point though is that certain people here want to try to understand right wing extremists, if not condone them.
Yet if people try to similarly understand violent causes they do not identify with then they are accused of condoning that violence.
The reek of double standards is overwhelming.

Your original question was in regards to the training or know how to build an explosive device, to which i said the internet.
Getting the raws would obviously have had to be done in the real world, but no doubt the internet played a big part ie..Contacts, raw material suppliers etc..

Simply explaning it with "people feel their rights have been ignored" is a poor argument, because it suggests that there's no political party which supports their views.

It committed all parties to a renunciation of violence and to the use of exclusively democratic means to advance their goals.
The IRA ceasefire started in 1994, and the Good Friday Agreement was signed in 1998.

Media and authorities have made mistake. They should have blamed it on any Muslim, or at least should have said soon after the attacks that he was seen going past a mosque, a Muslim, or when he was walking down the street he heard a Muslim reciting Quran or playing a CD in his car something like that. And that is what radicalised him. End of the story, you do not need to change directions of what people are willing to believe.

Keyplus, it was looking like some in the media were automatically looking for links to Islam.. assuming it may have something to do with Norway's actions in Afghanistan or Libya and linking Norway to Denmark's famous cartoons.
It smacks of irony that, after all these initial presumptions, it was a christian claiming it was the supporters of multiculturalism that were the target of his attack.
However, the Muslim extremist group that claimed culpability of the initial bombing obviously fueled that initial fire, I'm sure you'll agree that idiots like that are not doing any good for Muslims striving towards acceptance in European countries.

Reason being is that no British government could afford to be seen as bowing to terrorism.
In fact, terrorism does the very opposite of what it's supposed to do (at least in mainland UK, which is where I draw my experiences from). It doesn't really 'strike terror and destabilize' - rather it angers people and diminishes support for the cause in question.

Paul - I agree with what you said there but if anyone phones in and claims to be Muslim and takes responsibility that does not really mean that person was really Muslim and they did it. Although I agree that since 9/11 for whatever reason majority attacks have been carried out by people who call themselves Muslims. Without changing subject I will give example of Pakistan (my own birth country) where all of the internal terrorist attacks started since Gov allowed CIA to setup their networks. Public knew that, and so did army intelligence but corrupt politicians always denied. Now since the drama of Osama Bin Laden all of the CIA agents have been told and sent out of Pakistan and over two months now and not a single attack. Why?
So I believe that it is the people behind who are more dangerous the one who carries out he is usually a foot soldier and most of the times do not know why he is doing that.

What will the brain washing Madrasses and their training camps do now ? Apart from training would be terrorists from this country. Oh I forgot they can still attack Mumbai and of course there are the thousands of Taliban to be looked after and supplied . So maybe the answer to your //Why ?// is they are too busy for the moment .
