That really sets a good example doesn't it, only serving four and a half months of a 18 month sentence. for falsely claiming more than £22,000 of taxpayers' money.

I assume he'll now claim benefits as who would employ him..........
Let him be confined in his own house for the remainder of his 'imprisonment' tariff rather than be an additional burden on the taxpayer..........
Does he have to pay back the 22k? If not, that's not a bad deal is it. I might consider something similar...

/// Is The Daily Mail some form of comfort blanket to you aog.....oh what fun you have ///

No not at all, but it is obviously a 'bed of nails' for some, that is the fun I get, these people are just hilarious. Just take into account by their outbursts, how much it hurts them, when certain persons dare to enter one of DM's news stories,

I read all the papers, but the Daily Mail's web site is renowned for being the best, and besides they are not afraid to report on sensitive issues.
and they have lots of stories about TOWIE stars too.
Is it true he is going to be an advisor to Ken Clarke for prison reform ?

He will also be entitled to put HMP after his name.
Not fair at all, I noticed that fat guzzler MP Elliot Morley has also been sent to prison, but he'll be out by September. It doesn;t seem fair. I hope they pay back what they've taken. They will be well off on benefits if they can't get a job after that.
What are TOWIE stars jno?
He'll probably join the Jeffrey Archer club and make a fortune.
I love the DM & gossip. Who needs pseudo intellectual Guardian/FT/Times/Telegraph. I dont need to read of world affairs I cant change & get enuf on TV.

This suits me; poor Sarah didn't get a divorce payout any wonder she's broke.

I suppose just like Ken Clarke's assertion that there are different categories of rapists the same applies to MPs who have their hands in the till.
r u you a common housemouse !
It's not about being 'fair' it's about the tarrif for fraud sentences, which have to be seen to be applied fairly.

The law does not enter into the minutia of whether people think that one fraud is more deserving of a stiffer sentence than another, there would never be any judgements if they went down that road.

The sentence may be lenient, but it is the current sentence, until Parlianment changes it.
I don't agree with prison sentences for such offences, but they should be hit hard by having to repay everything, plus fines, prisons should be for violent offenders and anything that is a danger to the public.
It's very expensive keeping them in prison, so I agree with early release.

They have lost their positions and reputations, and have been plastered all, over the national press. That'll do
Do they still get a golden handshake and a huge pension? I shouldn't be surprised at all, knowing the illogical way the government works.

That may well be Andy, but it is not the initial sentence that is under discussion here, it is the huge reduction in the original sentence, that leaves the bitter taste.
Doesn't that happen for everyone?
