The American presidential election has generated a lot of interest in the papers, particularly because of the intense rivalry between Hilary Clinton and Barack Obama. However the parties are still only choosing their candidates to take part in the main election. Do we really need to have so much coverage of these stages of the American election race? Or do the British public really care that much about US politics?

I think we are interested, because the choice of president has a serious impact on our lives here - let's face it, we wouldn;t be loosing lives in Iraq and Afghanistan without the present war-mongering dough-braind incumbent.

Who wants someone like that - so let's at least see it coming, even we can;t do anything about it.
I am fed up of it to be honest, as time goes on our mother of all parliaments gets turned into a puppet show and begins to mimic the americanism's that are force fed to us down the telly most nights,

One month of political excitement every so many years is more than enough for the average british person....
I think the news channels are looking for something to fill a gap. Also I suppose it is unique in that for the first time either a black man or a white woman will be President, I don't think the other chappy the Republican....forgotten his name again....sounds like a chip producer....Mc Cain, he doesn't have much of a chance.
