i watch the tv and i shout at it.
her parents are so upset but fail to realise they are the core cause of this.
sorry but if theyd cared more about their 3 kids and less about food and drink maddy would be safe.
those are indesputable facts.
I hope shes found.
but im very sceptical.

kaylz, you are not alone in that thought, I think someone asked that question a few weeks ago. Will have a look and see if I can post the link.
"No one has said anything"?

It was the first thing that *everyone* said, because it's completely obvious to all, not least the parents. Reiterating it after 50 days as though it's some useful insight seems a tad ridiculous.
Hey no problems warpig, like i said takes me awhile!
And to kay, i think you are quite right, as a single mum myself i know how we can be penalised just for being single, try to do your best but we can be scapegoated some times as well.........we should all be treated equally and punished equally.
I aggree mostly with legend. it wasnt something out of their control, it wasnt turning their back for a few minutes. They went out for dinner!!! they didnt use the babysitting servive as they didnt want to leave them with strangers....so left them all alone instead!!madness! However I have no doubt that their tears are real, and i feel so incredibly sorry for them and obviously Maddie. They and Maddie are paying the ultimate price, not us, and hopefully theyll (but iam not holding my breath), get Maddie back and other people will have learnt a HUGE lesson about never leaving your kids while you go out to dinner.
Froog , some one posted an answer about maddie earlier on but it seems to have dissapeared again.
Just to say that a few more sightings of maddie have been seen in malta so lets hope and pray these ones are not a wild goose chase :)
sorry froog, who posted 'no one has said anything'?

Oops, thanks GS, missed that, but I reckon plenty has been said (in private at least).
Hmmm (am turning into mrBen now) but just wondering have the McCanns ever gone on record and stated that they made a mistake? I did see Gerry McCann say that 'they should have been there when Madeline was taken', I personally found this a rather odd statement, although I do appreciate that he was/is under extreme pressure when he stated this.

My point is , although we all have the greatest sympathy for them and more so Madeline, would such an admission, if not already stated, make them more 'endearing' - sorry, endearing is not the word I want to use but can't quite think of the right one, hopefully you know what I mean.
I agree with legend it's unforgivable and no I have never left my kids for 1 minute and never would. But yet again the press have gone on a rampage telling everyone that there have been sightings in Malta. Now the person who might have her in Malta is just going to move on and make it even harder to find her.
When all is said and done, no-one can make the McCanns feel any more guilty than they do themselves. Yes, they made a grave error in judgement which has now had dire consequences but they are paying the ultimate price for that - the loss of their precious daughter so I fail to see what purpose dredging up the same old tiresome point time and time again serves. They made a terrible mistake and have since been villified in the media for it and have to try to stay focused whilst under enormous pressure and having been catapulted into the spotlight - admittedly through their own doing but hey, what parent WOULDN'T go to the ends of the earth to find their child?

They are discovering the double edged sword of the media whereby on one hand, it serves to assist in promoting the interest in their daughter and feeding the public frenzy whilst on the other hand, their whole lives have been under scrutiny with allegations of swinger parties and accusations of personal involvement in their daughter's disappearance. Whilst I think that their judgement was textbook case of gross stupidity, I have enormous sympathy for them because regardless of what they did, their little girl is missing and they live with the terror of not knowing whether she is alive, dead or in mortal danger.

I hope and pray that this little girl is found alive and well but as the days roll by, I fear the worst - as her parents undoubtedly must feel deep down. Most of all though I feel most sorry for little Madeleine who regardless of the outcome will have suffered trauma.

What gets me, is that Maddie's father is a heart consultant & her mother is a nurse, within a hospital.

Now I don't know about any of you, but in our local hospital, you have to press a buzzer, then wait for a nurse to let you into either, the maternity or the children's wards.

Maddie's parents decided to leave their 3 children unattended, in an unfamiliar holiday complex apartment, with patio doors unlocked, whilst they dined.

If this had have happened in a hospital, I'm sure who ever left their patients unattended & the doors unlocked would have been severely reprimanded.

However, this is a truly sad case, as is/was with any other children who have been taken.

I do hope Maddie will still be found safe & well.....
For all those quick to condemn the McCanns though, I would just like to take the opportunity to point out the fact that abductions can happen whilst your children are by your side. Any parent realistically knows that you need eyes in the back of your head with young kids and the honest ones will admit to at least one occasion when their child has given them a start by trying to tear away if you take your eyes of the ball for a split second - as has happened in this frightening story of a family day out to the fairground which ended in terror. What I find most frightening is that when caught by the girl's father, her abductor tried to pass himself off as her father! Scary stuff :

.
Any parent of a young child realistically understands that if you take your eye of the ball for even a split second, it is enough for a young child to break loose. The honest ones will admit that it has happened to them on at least one occasion when their child has given them a turn by trying to break loose at the turn of an eye, even just briefly. For most, the parting of company is brief and they are quickly reunited with their child. For others, sadly this is not the case.

Let us not forget tragic little Jamie Bulger who disappeared from a busy shopping centre which he visited with his mum and was lured away to his death by two monstrous teenage boys. Should we crucify his mother for not keeping a tighter hold of her son's hand? Of course not. She found herself in a situation which thousands of parents the length and breadth of the country regularly find themselves faced with - a bored toddler who wants to spread his wings and takes off in pursuit of adventure.

Arguably, the McCanns left their children unattended which was irresponsible but they are now suffering for that error in judgement as Jamie Bulger's mother must beat herself up over the fact that she didn't have a child restraint linking his wrist to hers to stop him running away and indeed the parents in the link above must blame themselves for losing sight of their daughter. They have their daughter home safely, Jamie Bulger's parents do not and the McCanns face the agony of playing the waiting game. The common factor which these parents all share though is that ultimately, the people most at blame are the abductors themselves. The parents may have granted access to their children through human error but this does not justify the subsequent repercussions and anyone with a heart can't help feel sorry for these families.
No evidence to say she was abducted.
No evidence to show that she wasn't. If she had simply wandered off then surely she would have been found by now? A sweep has been done of the immediate area and I would presume that a young child wandering about in her pyjamas would have attracted a fair bit of attention. She literally has vanished without a trace.
Of course there is a difference between your child going missing from your garden or your side an leaving them unattended for an hour on the other side of an apartment complex. Taking your eyes off your children for a few seconds is something different entirely.

I would also like to agree with the Rev. Still NO evidence Maddie was abducted!
How far was the aprtment form the sea??

I also read on here that there we some deep building foundations close to the apartment that got filled in the next day
It's still taking your eyes of your child though, isn't it? The point I was making is that the McCanns are being villified for leaving their child unattended and some are even being callous enough to say that they deserve all they get. A young child is missing and that's the important point which a lot of people seem to be losing sight over as they seem hellbent on persecuting her parents for not being more responsible. I agree that it was reckless and selfish but to reiterate what I said earlier, they are paying the ultimate price for that selfish decision and no-one can make them feel any more guilty than they already feel. The comparisons I drew were to illustrate that abductions can happen even with your child in close proximity to you and that the real culprits are the abductors themselves. Furthermore, no evidence to suggest that she WASN'T abducted. Would she not have been found on an initial sweep of the area if she had simply wandered off and do you not think that a small child wandering around unattended at night in her pyjamas would have generated some attention? I know that I would certainly have noticed that.
