i am 45 just passed my driving test, and looking at quotes of car insurance for myself but they start at £2.500 fully comp..i mean i cannot afford that.
my partner and i bought a car recently between us 2nd hand.
i was looking at insuring the car with my partner as the proposed driver, and me as an added driver...and for us both i got a quote for £760 fully comp.....does this mean that we both are insured to drive the car with fully comp ins...and will i be covered to.
we do not live together as my partner lives less than a mile away and the car is parked there overnight.
hope this makes sense...tia

yes you should both be covered fully comp. with her as the main driver, but check the policy to be sure!..............

thank you
You do have to be a bit careful. Would your partner actually be the main driver? If this is not the case and you are the main driver. This is called fronting and if the insurance company suspect this you may have issues if you need to claim.
