Worse by far judging by the state of the buses I catch after a school run.
Same. Some of the things my Mum and siblings got up to I wouldn't have dreamt of doing.
children as in babies? or young people in general?

Probably the same "The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers."

-Socrates, 400 BC (apparently!)

children of any age feel free to talk any age group from 3 to 16
same. later generations forget that they were just as bad. just they now call it 'pranks' or 'high jinks' instead of yob behaviour. i remember things i did when i was at school and wonder how on earth i got away with it.
Child behaviour is a reflection of parental skills (or lack thereof).
I think kids always got up to things behind the backs of adults but wouldn't do so if there was an adult around; now they don't seem to care who's about.
Good one Sophie...
Child behaviour is only as good or bad as the upbringing the child has......be your own judge!
for the past 14 years I have worked in a primary school....yes, some children's behaviour is getting much worse, probably because of the lack of sanctions against bad behaviour.....poor little darling didn't get sugar on his cornflakes or some other stupid human rights excuse....grrrrrrrrrrr
If you mean in the UK(and I presume you do) the FAR worse.
As squarebear says, get on abus after school. We would have never dared to behave like that. I am 62 and can remember sitting quietly in class waiting for the teacher to arrive, standing up when he did(it was mainly male teachers then) and never speaking in class unless the teacher asked us something.
I think that that may have been a bit too strict,BUT what we have today is going to far in the other direction.
Sadly(having travelled a lot abroad, especially in Europe) this bad behaviour on the part of kids seems to be a British thing.Quite how and where it started I don't know, but I do know we need to tighten up a bit on it.It's getting out of hand.
Nowadays many kids have no respect for others (of whatever age).
my parents were brilliant. nothing they ever did lead me to do the things i got up to.
young people i think are getting worse, I am young myself (only 20) and i see so much that frightens me! i think its a result of people not having control over how they bring them up now for example teachers/police not having the powers to discipline properly because of politics.. the amount of anti-social behaviour seen as 'cool' in films and on tv

in schools the behaviour is worse, as in my opinion a lot of teachers have lost control of kids because they cannot discipline as they used to for fear of "infringment on the kids human rights" Ect and other such claptrap
Exactly Ankou....best parents in the world won't stop a determined child....
My son was naughty at school....I said to his teacher at his first parents evening that if he ever played up just tell him you're ringing me. Did it work....Yes it bloody did.
the headteacher at my primary school whipped the back of my hand with a ruler when i was 8. it didn't achieve anything at the time.

maybe she lead me to go renegade later on.

Child Behaviour is worse in my opinion, but only due to lack of good parenting and a decline in how we expect children to behave. When they get into school the teachers have no chance and I don't blame the teachers - it's not their job to teach behaviour in my opinion.

Obviously this doesn't apply to all children or all parents, but there are a fair few out there.
