A day or two before christmas on our local itv news a reporter was at a shop. there was a man looking ironing board covers for a present for his wife. The female reporter suggested not to get them but he was dertermined BUT he either only knew the size of the ironing board in cm and the packet said the sizes of covers in inches, or the other way round! The reporter told him not to, but at the end of the clip it, showed him at the till buying it!

What do you think became of him, and what would you do/say if your spouse bought you one?

I will give that some deep thought and return Molly, back soon.
I would say 'It wasn't my fault he asked for it, you got me bang to rights officer'
If I needed one, I would say thank you.

If he knew the measurements of the board in cm and the cover in inches, primary school maths would have able to help him.

Not quite sure by what became of him? Are you suggesting some foul play was afoot? I assume, he bought his board then went home to tell his wife he would be on TV.

You say that as if you were the woman he bought it for and didn't know someone had tried to disuade him from buying it . . . .
But why would someone dissuade you from buying a gift? Not everyone wants the same things. She might have asked for a new cover. I persobally would have told the reporter to mind his/her own business.
I would put him on the board & cover him with the cover (after I banged his head with the iron) & dump him at the tip.
Ginger got me a serving dish and a knife sharpener...

Like SQ - if I needed it I would be happy. I'm not into Christmas presents so I'd rather get something practical.

I think it may have been christmas eve and the man said that he didn't know what else to get her . . .
He's dead!
I could use an ironing board cover, I would be quite happy
Maybe he's de-pressed.
Ask Milly, she probably wrapped it. looool :-))
