Snooze? mine is only 9 minutes and then the alarm goes off again :-(, why make it 9 minutes and not 10??

i tend not to use snooz as it doesnt wake me up lol had 2 phones set today one for 7am and 8 am other for 7am ,woke up just before 7 and went back to sleep woke up at half 9 missed my train oh dear x

Suppose its to give you time to come to - makes you think youre getting an extra 10 mins.Like setting your clock ten minutes fast-by the time you realise thats not the right time youre awake anyway.

annoyingly, i don't have asnooze button which means i have to get up when the alarm goes else i go back to sleep and wake up at about 8.15.

Wonder if its cos your a man and you dont have to ahem 'snooze' as long as a woman ;)

the simple answer to why it's 9min is just because back in the early days of snooze alarms the cog that controlled the snooze timer had to mesh in properly with all the other cogs in the clock and a cog that gave a 9 minute snooze fitted nicely.

It's still nine minutes purely due to tradition.

Yes, I noticed that the old lamplighter/snufferouter trundles by my place in exactly 9 minutes time and taps on my window again.................truly amazing!
