Halleluja
What do you mean explain them?

(they're not her lyrics)
Not the best version.
The best one is by Rufus Wainwright sung in the SHrek Movie.
Question Author
Lakitu, I know that. Want to know what the lyrics mean?
By the way is Elliot Horwood the person who typed the lyrics for this youtube piece.
If so fair enough.
Leonard Coen wrote this song.
Its about the Biblical story of King David and his love for another mans wife.

I still want to understand the lyrics! lol! xxx
Which part do you need explaining?
Question Author
Ah, thankyou tigerlily/ yogasun! Trying to get that link up xxx
Sunday Tribune (Ireland) this week carried a story on the history of this song. Over 100 recorded versions!

Apparently the version recorded by Cohen was cut from 200 verses to 6 - and he reckoned that even at 200 he wasn't finished and it nearly killed him. Dylan recorded it live and when he asked Cohen how long it had taken to write, Cohen replied 2 years - out of shame as it had actually taken a lot longer!

Fabulous song, fabulous version, but I still fall in the Jeff Buckley camp when it comes to favourite versions
