If you read the whole of Matthew24 you realize that almost all prophecies have been fulfilled thence this means rapture may take place anytime. Some of the prophesies fulfilled are nations fighting nations, earthquakes, false prophesies and restoration of the state of Israel symbolised by sprouting of a fig tree. What else have you seen fulfilled?

I see this as the wonderful art of predicting events after they have happened.

Throughout history, we have read and learnt about nations fighting nations, earthquakes, false prophets and lots and lots about Israel. It is much like the writings of Nostradamus. In its vaguest sense it is all-encompassing and with very little imagination can be applied to any event in any time past or present. And because it is all-encompassing, the future as well. Very clever way of writing, mind.

Mystic Meg always used to predict lottery winners whose name began with a J. Now considering the number of people named Joe, John, James, Jane etc, it is highly unlikely with that sweeping generalisation that she could ever be wrong. She never said a name and she never said how much. Damnit! the woman couldnt even tell us the numbers.
Would you care to define quite soon by giving a rough date - within five years either way would be fine.

I'm feeling strangely confident that it won't happen in my lifetime.
Hi Guys, prophesies are always strangely vague, and can often be applied to any number of situations. People who seek their fulfilment will fit them wherever it suits - even if they have to twist them slightly.

One which is highly acclaimed is that which declares that the Messiah would be born of the House of David. If Jesus had indeed been the Messiah, and had he been Joseph's son, his followers could have truthfully declared the prophesy fulfilled. However, since Jesus was reputed to be the Son of God, he couldn't possibly have been born of the House of David, and therefore the prophesy remains unfulfilled. The 'Biblical Prophesies brigade' have scored a bit of a home goal with that one.
but that means it what you dont relaise it to bemean
"relaise it to bemean" what's that? Speaking in tongues?
I predict in advance that no one here (or there) will wake up dead in the morning (or at some time past four), no matter how much they might wish they had, that is, if they wake up (or in my case sleep) at all, inclusive of all that were previously dead to begin with or at some point following their birth unless they just happen to be the rare exception I pointed out earlier to those lacking the aftersight to invision the past.
Theland, what?

Mibs, what?

Have you both been at the cooking sherry again?
The Rapture came in 1998.

...with their first single 'The Chair That Squeaks'. However, they only really achieved recognition with the song 'Love Is All' in 2004.

Given how vague these prophesies tend to be, could this New York dance-punk band be what Matthew was actually predicting?
Here is wisdom, let he with understanding reckon the number of failed apocalyptic prophesies for it is a human failing. It's number is three score and three

... and is rather nicely documented on this web site

Didn't Blondie have a Rapture in the late 70s, Quinlad. I'm sure Debbie Harry is mentioned by name in the Revelation somewhere.
My husband almost had a rupture just thinking about her!
I can not bet on biblical prophecies as bible was invaded by the historians and story tellers (everyone knows that).

I believe in the prophecies in Quart and by Muhammed (pbuh). If someone is interested then you may read this.

My friend thinks I have a rapture like wit which I believe is like akin to a dinosaur beginning with V but why they should be coming back I'll never know.

I hate when religion and science meet, it gets me so confused.
"Dino .... ?" "Vino .....?"
Jolly good - Theland's feeling better. :o)
As I said above, I think with this second coming thing, Christians (or anyone else) wouldnt really accept that he had returned and was in their presence.

And in doing so they would be able to predict after the event oh, it was him after all. At least he left us his sandal or shoe, or is it a gourd..its a sign at least.

Velociraptor?
Finally, someone who speaks China Doll!
Oh no!! May as well be speaking in tongues!!
