Does anyone know who sang a song in the 60's with the chorus "down came the rain." It was a humourous chorus to a more serious verse, and the rain always spoilt the scene set in the verse. I would like to know the title and who sang it as I would like to get a copy of the words.

The English comic version was by Charlie Drake. It was a cover of an American serious song but I can.t remember the singer. I think it was actually called Down Came The Rain'..
I Think the version that you want is by Mister Murray
mitch murray i do believe, can't remember charlie drake doing it tho.
Just checked and I cannot find it by Charlie, which surprised me as I was convinced he did it. Its probably a 50s tv show I remember where Charlie got buckets of water thrown at him every time he sang the title line. He did a few other comic songs though and some made the charts.

Sorry, got it wrong this time!
BBC Radio2 played this record a few months back on their Sound of the Sixties Show with Brian Mathew. They listed it on their Web site as Mister Murry

So using this info I found and downloaded it
