I have searched the web but cannot find the answer.

It could be a number of composers.

I think it could be someone who wrote a lot of symphones.

Haydn wrote over a 100 symphonies and unless you were an expert could all sound very similar.

Mozart wrote over 40, but I am not sure anyone could accuse him of rewriting the same symphony.

Some lesser known early composers (1700s) wrote a large number of symphones (in the days when they were very short and just used as background music at parties)

Bruckner only wrote a few symphones, but he did keep rewriting them and republishing them in different forms during his life.

My guess is that it is a fairly obscure composer of the 1700s who wrote 50 or more symphones. Your guess is as good as mine.

If not then, and I have nothing to base this on, but would say Haydn as he is the most famous composer to write over 100 symphonies.
Funny thing this, before looking at the existing answers, I thought of Bruckner, too...
Oasis do that with their albums...

Bruckner apparently wrote several versions of each of his symphonies...not sure if they're all from the same root though.
