Dear all

My wife and I will be celebrating a landmark wedding anniversary next year and I want to have a piece of music composed for her.
I have a rough idea what I want - but am struggling to find anyone listed on the internet who may be able to do it for me.
I have until August 2014 to do this but obviously need to liaise with the composer.
I don't want anything spectacular - perhaps 2/3 instruments in a blues/rock style
Can anyone point me in the direction of a UK-based composer who can assist?

Can you google schools of music in your area? It could be a wonderful project for a budding composer.
You shouldn't worry much about finding the right composer for this on the first try. Find almost any composer, and if it's not his kind of thing, he'll tell you who to go to instead. These chaps all ned to rely on each other.
Thats' really lovely. I can't help but It's a smashing idea. Good luck, I hope you get what you want.

Contact a local school or college's music teacher, and ask them to give it over to their pupils. It would make a great topic for the class to attempt.
You would be the judge, and the outright winner gets a prize of X number of pounds, with another prize of x number of pounds going to the college.
As others have said, try a local college or university. A level and undergraduate students have to do composition as part of their coursework and I'm sure there's someone out there who'd welcome the opportunity.
