Afternoon All,

Heard a song I rather liked today but only caught the one lyric 'if this is a war of the world' and I'm not even sure that's right. Any ideas who this is? (For a second I thought it might be Greenday but I really don't think it is.)

It's a male singer if that is any help at all.

Cheers

Is it Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly? "War of the Worlds". I'm listening to it right now. Spooky.

Hey Nick, how the devil are you?

Yep, looks like it might be. Thank you my favourite NME snot.

Were you really? (Yep, spooky. Ah well, great minds and all that.) What do you think of it? Listening to the one song or albulm?

(By the way... that group with knives/daggers in the title you were talking about a while a go... been hearing them a lot lately, not convinced at all. 'That decision was mine' on all the time and I really don't rate it that highly, hope that's not the best song on the albulm...)
Dolly, you have no idea what you're talking about. Calm down and rest assured that I am correct. The Young Knives are excellent, and the sooner you realise that the heppier you'll be ;-)

I was listening to the whole album actually, which is okay, but nothing spectacular. Next up is Battle, and The Holloways.

Now Nick m'dear.....the minute you even hint that you're right then we both know that chances are you only think you are, why fight it? Remember the TMNT? ;0P

Now lets look at this logically... The Young Knives appear to be shouting rather tunelessly down a microfone regarding a decision they may or may not have made. As a song, that is not to be highly recommended. However, in the sprit of open mindedness (and the fact that I often listen to tuneless shouting), I'm willing to give them another go if you can point me in the direction of a song I might rate better... (Spookily again, add just come on for their new single as I type this).

I'm not sure what to make of Get Cape, I do like war of the worlds but the other stuff looks a bit teenage angsty to me, mind you, I only did a quick google... mind you, I've been known to dabble in emo (to my shame) ;0)

Have you heard Panic at the Disco? What do you reckon? Only heard the one song, something about closing a 'godamn door'... I like it. Not amazing but I like it.

I would take a look at 'Here Comes the Rumour Mill' which is my favourite track off the YK album. Listen, learn and be very sorry.

I'm not sure you should tar GCWCF with the dreaded emo brush just yet. I have a feeling that he's a bit more articulate than that, with a Billy Braggish streak running through him. I've got nothing against Panic! but I do feel a bit old for them, which is kind of the first time that has ever happened to me.

I've just had a bit of a funny turn and bought 3 albums, well 2 albums and a mini-album.

Battle - mini-album
Cansei de ser Sexy
Supersystem

These are all going to be great.

Sweetie.... me appologise? Who you trying to kid? ;0) I will pop on youtube at the weekend and look up the suggested song. If it's any good I will come back and hope to be served some ice cream with my humble pie. (I'll also look up GC,WC,F in more detail too.

How can you be too old to enjoy a form of music hun? Sorry, that makes no sense at all! If we were talking about the cheeky girls or the Hoff does nursery rhymes I might possibly let you off with that but alas, the Hoff has yet to bring out such an albulm.

I have never heard of any of those bands you name dropper ;0)

Listened to Damon Albun's (sp) latest project last night, The good, the bad and the queen. Not bad actually. Was impressed. Some good live sets last night in general... excellent.

< Walks in, takes tiny slice of humble pie, chokes on it >

Ok... YK are not that bad, I like 'She's Attracted' (is that right better than your choice tho. And I definately don't think they're that great but will concede they're better than I gave them credit for.

Just been looking at GCWCF.... still going towards a bit teenage angsty I'm afraid, time will tell.

However Panic! have just gone up in my opinion as thought the video was hillarious.... yes, I'm that shallow.

Right, better go finish this pie off.
