We are about to spend a ridiculous amount on a Sonos system for our house but as classical musicians, we would want to download mostly classical music. Can anyone out there advise where the best classical music download sites are. I'm happy to pay but I want to have artists that I've heard of with orchestras I know.

I would suggest that if you are almost going to remortgage your home an such a sound system, then many downloads will do it no justice. Unless they are from a professional download site, (rather than Joe Bloggs doing it at home), they may be variable in sound level (from very quiet to overdriven), where the input levels are badly set. This particularly applies to people ripping vinyl. A bought CD would be the best way to go for such an expensive piece of kit (IMHO). You can probably get some good CD's at good prices by Googling.

Due to less stringent copyright laws on classical music you can often find well-known music by just searching mp3s
